‘GTA 6’ Publisher Looking at the Game to Become the New World of Warcraft

The sixth installment to the open-world action-adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto” is still years away from its release date, but rumors about it have been getting almost daily servings on the internet.

One of the latest rumors about “GTA 6” is that it will feature teleporting, which was not part of the previous “GTA” games.

Teleporting will enable players to transpose themselves from one place to another without having to do any kind of traveling.

The teleporting rumor on “GTA 6” appears to be an offshoot of the previous rumor that the video game would feature a state-to-state map of America.

While a big gameplay map is certainly possible to do considering the capability of game developer Rockstar Games, it seems rather absurd if that would be the case since that would be a real massive map and players would do a lot of traveling in between heists.

Critics were asking if the report is true about the massive US map, what would gamers do while on travel from one state to the next, which means that there would be some downtime or lull when “GTA 6” finally comes out in the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC a few years down the road. The rumor about the teleporting feature seems to address the downtime as there shall no longer be travel time involved.

Follow the footsteps of ‘World of Warcraft’

Meanwhile, Take Two Interactive, the game publisher of “GTA” games, revealed that it is looking at “GTA 6” to become the new “World of Warcraft.”

While it did not explain its analogy, it seems that developer Rockstar Games intends to strengthen the multiplayer mode of “GTA 6” because co-op gameplay and modding have been the gaming trend as of late and have also become part of consumer habits, notes N4BB.

It is also possible that Take Two Interactive may be hinting of the possibility that “GTA 6” may offer subscription too. Or it could be alluding that it wants the franchise to be as durable as “World of Warcraft.”

“World of Warcraft” is the world’s most subscribed massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game in terms of subscribers.

“World of Warcraft” is also the highest grossing video game of all time earning US$10 billion in July 2012. In January last year, game developer Blizzard Entertainment also announced that more than 100 million game players accounts had already been created over the game’s 11-year existence.

Female protagonist on the game

While the developer has yet to officially confirm the arrival of a female character in “GTA 6,” speculations have been pretty consistent that there will be at least one when the game finally comes out to the gaming platform a few years down the road.

And the rumors are pretty consistent that Eva Mendez will be the voice actor for the female lead. Those speculations actually gave birth to rumors that Eva’s romantic partner Ryan Gosling will also join the game as a voice actor, notes Neurogadget.

With reports that the latest update coming to the “GTA Online” has given players the capability to change the gender or sex of their playable character from male to female and vice versa, it becomes clear that a female character is now very much possible for “GTA 6.”

Gosling’s participation to “GTA 6” will usher the developer’s plan to meld the “GTA” series with the company’s other mega successful video game franchise “Red Dead Redemption.”
