Pretty much nothing is known about “GTA 6” on the official front, even though there is no shortage of rumors about the game on a practically daily basis. Rockstar have been completely quiet about it, and nobody can blame the studio, considering the huge amount of attention there is on the game.
Many people are wondering if “GTA 6” is even in development or not, and recent rumors claim that the game is not actually an active project for the studio at the moment. At the same time, Rockstar are still considering it very seriously, but they still aren’t ready to commit lots of development resources to it.
This makes sense if they still want to keep “GTA 5” updated, plus the studio is known for a generally slow working pace, so it makes sense that they haven’t even started work on the game yet. It will probably take a few years to see “GTA 6” on the market, or even to see any announcements about it at all, so fans should brace themselves for a long wait.
Some even suspect that Rockstar might decide to exploit the fame of the game to some extent, and make the next release an even more groundbreaking one. They could easily build up a lot of hype about “GTA 6” without even saying anything about the game, as many people are constantly waiting to hear any kinds of news about it at all.
A few strategically released rumors may be all Rockstar need in order to get the hype train rolling. That’s also why some people are constantly keeping an eye on any new rumors about the game, hoping that some of them might have actually come from the developers themselves.
On the other hand, there are also lots of discussions regarding what exactly “GTA 6” could include in terms of gameplay features. The last game did quite a lot to advance the franchise in this regard, and we expect some of the newly introduced features to stick around for the next release.
For example, having multiple protagonists was received very well by fans, so we fully expect the studio to not only continue this idea, but even expand on it. There have been some rumors of a possible female protagonist coming to “GTA 6”, and that would be a great combination with the idea of switching between several main characters.
The location of the game is another major point of discussion among fans, and it actually seems to be the most interesting part of the whole mystery for some. There are some claims that we might see “GTA 6” taking place in a real-world location, unlike most releases in the franchise.
We don’t think it’s out of the question – it’s hard for Rockstar to consider any idea as “too much” – but it’s also noticeable that the franchise has been moving in a certain specific direction over the last decade, and this might clash with those ideas to some extent.
Platform availability is another point that many fans have been bringing up. Rockstar have been doing things in a somewhat strange way with regards to their PC fans lately, and some are worried that the studio might eventually drop the platform entirely. Hopefully that won’t be the case, as after all the PC is the main reason for Rockstar to be in their position right now in the first place.
