‘GTA 6’ Production Underway, Location for the Game Set to be Outside of the US?

Rockstar Games has finally moved forward with the development of the sixth installment of their popular video game franchise “Grand Theft Auto” and rumors are pointing that players of “GTA 6” won’t be playing around the US.

It was long stated that the next addition to the popular GTA franchise will have larger maps and better gameplay, but players are in for a surprise if rumors that the location of “GTA 6” is set somewhere far from the US.

According to Game N Guide, Rockstar has its eyes set on Tokyo being the location of “GTA 6.” However, the developer is still uncertain whether the Japanese capital is really the right place for the game.

Techradar reports that some developers from Rockstar already went to Japan to see a potential location and assess if the area could be incorporated into the game.

Vine Report says that developers took some photos that they intended to use as a reference for making Tokyo into the virtual world. Also, the Rockstar team immersed themselves with the locals so they could observe Japanese culture and the mannerisms of the Japanese people.

Speculations say that the company is planning on creating “GTA Tokyo” in the same mold of “GTA Vice City” which came out over 10 years ago.

Back in December 2003, Take-Two Interactive, the mother company of Rockstar Games, has filed a trademark to titles such as “GTA: Bogota,” “GTA: Sin City,” and “GTA: Tokyo.” Neurogadget notes that it is possible that the company already had plans during that time to extend the GTA Universe.

Alphr notes that Rockstar should really see all the aspects of the game before deciding to move it to a different location.

The website notes that it will be difficult for the developer to do so as it would mean that they have to change a number of important details about the game which includes the brands of cars and the tone of the game itself.

Alphr notes that despite the fact that the brand of cars in the game are fake, it will still require a total overhaul to change all brands and match them to the Tokyo setting.

According to GTA 5 Cheats, Rockstar is also considering the city of Boston to be the location for “GTA 6” since it has an urban vibe that has always been present in other GTA games.

Rockstar has made no comment on this yet. However, what’s certain is that “GTA 6” is already in its first stages of development. Techradar reported that the tedious work for the development of the game started last March.

Developers of the popular video game may also give new information about the much-awaited “GTA 6” during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, which will be held from June 14-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Avid gamers can expect “GTA 6” to be amped up especially because it’s already been almost three years since “GTA 5” was released.

“GTA 5” is one of the best-selling video games to date with Rockstar earning $800 million on its launching date and $1 billion in its first three days.

Reports say that “GTA 6” will be launched by 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One, but there are also reports surfacing that the game will be released after Microsoft launches the Xbox Two and Sony introduces the PlayStation 5. If these rumors are true, then gamers can expect “GTA 6” to come out by 2020.

Fans are speculating that it may be released in 2018 since Rockstar appears to follow a certain pattern. “GTA 4” was already out for five years when “GTA 5” was released and so fans believe that this trend will continue on in the gaming franchise.

Earlier reports say that the upcoming installment of the hit video game will finally have a female protagonist that will be voiced by actress Eva Mendes. Her partner, Ryan Gosling is also in talks for voicing the male lead.
