With the Heists DLC already an almost done deal with its expected release on January 27, 2015, simultaneous with the rolling out of the “Grand Theft Auto 5” on the PC, Rockstar can now focus on “Grand Theft Auto 6” and its key details including its location.
While initial reports have it that “GTA 6” will have the fictitious Los Santos in Blaine County again as a likely location, it seems that Rose City or Portland in Oregon will be the game developer’s likely choice.

Previous editions of “GTA” has had different locations including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, and San Francisco.
Portland is a great choice for “GTA 6” because it is a simply a great place to steal cars and get cozy with hookers in between. Picking it as a location for the next GTA is better than Los Santos in any form of comparison.
Why Portland is a good choice
The site also details why Rose City is a good choice for a location for “GTA 6.”
In terms of guns and ammunition, Portland has nine gun stores. Although Los Santos has 11 gun stores but the city has the guns that matter, the ones that bring out the boom and the firepower needed to commit high-profile crimes.
In terms of girls and strip clubs, Portland has the numbers too. The city has a total of 81 strip clubs where all kinds of adult activities are all happening and the characters could surely have good doses of it in exchange for some of their extra cash.
One category where Los Santos seems to have an edge over Portland is the number of police stations in the city. Los Santos has 12 to Portland’s 6. But for a player who is on the other side of the law, less police presence is more palatable for committing high-profile crimes.
In terms of coffee shops in the city of operation for GTA activities, Los Santos has 10 while Portland has 637. It’s like the player could actually go into different coffee shops every day for almost two years without any making repeat visit to any one.
And typical with GTA set-up, each of these coffee shops are just waiting for some local drug lord to take over and use it as front for drug operation business.
No other choice
Portland has all the elements for becoming the perfect city for the “GTA 6” given the city’s personality, level of intrigue, and that distinction of being just near yet so far as there is only a very slim chance of being recognized by a friend from somewhere in the past.
That being said and explained, Rockstar would have no other choice but to pick Portland, Oregon as the location for “GTA 6.”
