‘GTA 6’ Out in Video Game Shelves by 2018; Rumors of Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes to Voice New Lead Characters Swirl

The online multiplayer mode of “Grand Theft Auto 5″ has just received its second Ill-Gotten Gains DLC this week following the first one last month. The latest update features new vehicles including a motorcycle and a speedboat, several bug fixes, new weapons, and more game tweaks.

While it is a known fact that more updates are bound to come to the”GTA 5” in the months and years to come, game developer Rockstar Games seem to be juggling its time and creativity with the upcoming “GTA 6,” now reportedly in the works.

The developer, however, remains mum on the latest installment to the highly popular “Grand Theft Auto” franchise. Few details have emerged since the developer’s announcement that “GTA 6” was already in the works, and fans of the game may have to wait a little more to get their hands on it. Breathecast reports that “GTA 6” will be out in the market by 2018.

This was also the case with the announcement on “GTA 5” when the game’s development began as early as 2011, but it was only made available to gaming platforms by late 2013. If Rockstar would follow the same pattern, then it may likely take a little over two years before “GTA 6” will make it to the gaming consoles. This would also mark a five-year gap between “GTA 5” and its follow-up, mirroring the five-year gap between “GTA 4” and “GTA 5” as well.

Rockstar Games’ founder Leslie Benzies gets candid in an interview with MNR Daily where he disclosed that the development team has a lot of ideas going on for the franchise’s next instalment. Though they still don’t know what “GTA 6” will be, they pretty much have something going on already. One thing they promised for sure is that “GTA 6” will be bigger than its predecessor.

As for the games’ feature and gameplay, no details have been officially announced yet but Latino Post notes that fans are expecting a more realistic approach to the game. The site added that the character customization and more mission availability would really make for exceptional updates. The clamor to bring back the game in the 1970s or 1980s setting, just like how it was with Vice City, is also very strong among gamers.

Trusted Reviews cites that the highly anticipated video game sequel will go quite ambitious, as it will reportedly map the entire United States for its driving content. It is honestly a very challenging attempt, but with Rockstar Games’ record in gaming success, that is always a big possibility. Although the need to recreate the map of the whole US might take some time.

Previous GTA versions only focus on one city and gaming analysts were quick to point out that the game might have some issues with loading the whole map of America. They believe that developers might have to push the release date to 2020 to give them ample time to recreate the multiple cities of the country.

Talks have been going around that the upcoming entry to the Grand Theft Auto series will bear connection to another Rockstar Games creation, the “Red Dead Redemption” series. The lead character is rumored to be a descendant of John Marston of “Red Dead Redemption.” If this is true, then fans can expect a crossover featuring the two commercially successful games anytime soon.

Since its successful debut in 1997, the action-adventure video game has been consistently giving players great, if not the best, gaming experience. Through its course and after a lot of developments, one major element still lacks in the well-known game – the presence of a female character.

This time, however, the game developer will put an end to the long list of GTA games without a femme fatale representation in it. Latino Post reports that Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser have long expressed the possibility that the addition of a female character to the franchise was always in their minds. They just couldn’t find the right way to fit her into the game.
