The rumors and speculations about the open-world action adventure game “Grand Theft Auto 6” keep on piling almost on a daily basis on the internet that no one is actually sure which one or ones would actually make it to the game when it finally comes out to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC a few years down the road.
Game developer Rockstar Games has yet to come out to confirm or deny practically all types of rumors about “GTA 6,” the most pronounced among which are reports that the game finally having a female protagonist and that its gameplay map shall feature the entire map of the United States.
There were even reports that the upcoming sixth installment of the very popular “GTA” franchise will also feature teleportation so as to address the downtime that players would possibly make in traveling from one place to another.
In addition, speculations also started swirling a few weeks ago that the game developer is eyeing to make “GTA 6” very much like the massively multiplayer online role-playing game “World of Warcraft” by offering online subscription.
However, since Rockstar Games has yet to come out with an official announcement or statement to either confirm or deny all the speculations, everything should be taken with a fine grain of salt.
Natural disasters eyed
Latest reports or rumors now indicate that there is a possibility that the game developer is eyeing to include natural disasters in the gameplay of “GTA 6.”
Such natural disasters include tsunamis, earthquake, volcanic eruptions, and typhoons, notes the Vine Report.
Accordingly, the inclusion of natural disasters would make players feel the world as more than alive compared to the previous iterations of the “GTA” games.
As far as game content is concerned, Rockstar Games says that it is not an issue with the company.
In fact, Rockstar boss Leslie Benzies was quoted in a previous interview that the company has about 45 years worth of ideas that they want to incorporate to “GTA 6,” which means that all the rumored features going around on the internet could be true or those could all be inaccurate as well, notes Latinos Post.
The next ‘World of Warcraft’
When rumors came out that developer Rockstar Games reportedly wants “GTA 6” to become the next “World of Warcraft,” it fuelled various speculations from both gamers and critics.
It was actually game publisher Take Two Interactive who said that it is looking at “GTA 6” to become the next “World of Warcraft.”
While it did not explain its description, it seems that developer Rockstar Games intends to strengthen the multiplayer mode of “GTA 6” because co-op gameplay and modding have been the gaming trend as of late and have also become part of consumer habits.
It is also possible that Take Two Interactive may be hinting of the possibility that “GTA 6” may offer subscription too or it could be alluding that it wants the franchise to be as durable as “World of Warcraft.”
“World of Warcraft” is the world’s most subscribed massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It holds the Guinness world record for the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game in terms of subscribers.
“World of Warcraft” is also the highest grossing video game of all time earning US$10 billion in July 2012. In January last year, game developer Blizzard Entertainment also announced that more than 100 million game players accounts had already been created over the game’s 21-year existence.
According to some critics, it is possible that Rockstar Games is looking more on bringing subscription to “GTA 6” rather than strengthening its multiplayer mode since there is already “GTA Online” which always gets a new version whenever a new iteration of the game comes out.
The greatest folly is to include a female character in the game. thus conformist politicize the story of the game.
