The initial rumors about the setting of the open world action-adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6” are that it would have its biggest map yet to date because it shall combine all the gameplay maps from the previous iterations of the game.
Subsequently, there came rumors that the setting of “GTA 6” would be in London. Then came speculations that it could be set in Japan as well.
Lately, it seems to have been trimmed down to the city of San Francisco in California, known in the game as San Fierro.
The surprising inclusion of London in the rumor mills of the game’s location apparently emanated from the fact that most members of the Rockstar Games development team working on the game are British.
However, critics are now saying that should “GTA 6” be located in London, there will be some changes on the features as well. One important change is that the steering wheel of the vehicles will be on the right side, reports Neurogadget.
However, all these rumors about the game’s setting are mere speculations at this time pending the confirmation from Rockstar so it is best to take every information with a fine grain of salt.
Coming out on the next-generation consoles
There are also reports saying that the “GTA 6” could possibly come out on the next generation gaming consoles, the PlayStation 5 from Sony, and the Xbox Two from Microsoft.
In fact, rumors are rife that “GTA 6” shall be the first game on both upcoming gaming consoles when they are launched sometime in 2018.
Latest rumors about the game suggest that it will feature a vintage theme which hints at a “Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories” prequel.
Since the “Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories” is set in 1984, it is possible that “GTA 6” could go as far back as the 1970s and could also boast of vintage cars and clothing options for players.
While Rockstar Games has yet to make an announcement regarding the sequel to “GTA 5,” the release timeline now permeating online could imply that the developer is already working on the next installment of the “GTA” franchise, notes the University Herald.
Overshadowed by ‘Pokemon Go’
Contrary to the reports before the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 event in Los Angeles, California in June, Rockstar Games did not make any announcement or development updates on “GTA 6,” leaving many fans disappointed.
Rockstar Games has yet to make a formal announcement or statement regarding the development of “Grand Theft Auto 6” but speculations are never absent daily on the internet.
However, as of late, it has been overshadowed by the sensational launching early last month of Nintendo’s “Pokemon Go,” and the formal announcement of the release date for the open-world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
One of the latest and more interesting reports about “GTA 6” has nothing to do with the rumored location, characters, or gameplay of the sixth installment of the very popular franchise, but more on “GTA 5 Redux,” an improved iteration of the “GTA 5” that has just been previewed on the PC.
The mod was apparently updated by Josh Romito and his team and it gives gamers an all-new experience for “GTA 5.”
It is like playing “GTA 5” with an incredible and lifelike environment, it comes off as almost a virtual reality experience in high definition.
“GTA 5 Redux” dramatically overhauls the graphics of the game with all-new weather systems and effects, lighting, and textures, which ultimately enhanced “GTA 5” in so many ways.
The mod also included 61 incredible Snapmatic pictures indicating how good the game can be on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One when it finally rolls out after it comes out officially on the PC this month.
