‘GTA 6’ Likely in Initial Development Phase at This Time If It is to Come Out in 2018!

Now that 2016 is upon the gaming community, it is possible that developer Rockstar Games is now on the initial phase of development for the sixth installment of the open-world action adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto.”

Previous rumors have been consistent that “GTA 6” could come out to the gaming consoles and the PC in 2018, which makes a lot of sense since it actually took Rockstar all of five years to develop and release “GTA 5” from the time it released “GTA 4.”

“GTA 5” was released in October 2013 so it will be five years on October 2018, which is likely the release date for “GTA 6.” Though, at this point in time, which is relatively too early, everything is speculation and gamers do not expect to hear any official statement from Rockstar Games, details the Christian Post.

However, based on the game development schedule of the New York City-based game developer, Rockstar should be working on the initial phase of the game if not already laying down the groundwork by this time.

Latest reports have it that the developer is still busy working on several more DLCs this year for the online multiplayer version of “GTA 5” and it is likely that its concentration for “GTA 6” will be much heavier towards the second half of 2016.

Next loudest rumor

The next loudest rumor about “GTA 6” is about the upcoming game having a female lead character and that actress Eva Mendes is being considered for the voice acting role.

In fact, latest reports have it that the actress is close to signing a deal with Rockstar for her voice acting engagement on “GTA 6,” reports the Ecumenical News.

A female protagonist for a “GTA” game would be a welcome change in the franchise but it shall come as no longer a surprise as many other games have also been focusing on female protagonists.

Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, made the reports about the female lead character on “GTA 6” hot again in a recent interview when he was quoted as saying that they were indeed planning to incorporate a female lead character in the next iteration of the “GTA” franchise but they have not found the right game for it.

Houser, however, assured gamers that the game development company always think about incorporating a female lead character into the game.

Natural disasters on the backdrop

The rumors and speculations about “GTA 6” keeps on piling almost on a daily basis on the internet that no one is actually sure which one or ones would actually make it to the game when it finally comes out of the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC a few years down the road.

Game developer Rockstar Games has yet to come out to confirm or deny practically all types of rumors about “GTA 6,” the most pronounced of which is the game finally having a female protagonist and that its gameplay map shall feature the entire map of the United States.

There were even reports that the upcoming sixth installment of the very popular “GTA” franchise will also feature teleportation to address the perceived downtime that players would possibly make in moving from one place to another.

In addition, speculations also started swirling a few weeks ago that the game developer is eyeing to make “GTA 6” very much like the massively multiplayer online role-playing game “World of Warcraft” by offering online subscription.

However, since Rockstar Games has yet to come out with an official announcement or statement to either confirm or deny all the speculations, everything should be taken with a fine grain of salt.
