‘GTA 6’ Latest Rumors Say that Rockstar Might Announce an Update on the Game During the PlayStation Meeting!

Sony has set its PlayStation Meeting on September 7, about the same time as the Apple iPhone launching event.

Latest reports going around the gaming community is that New York-based game developer Rockstar Games is set to make an announcement of an update about the open world action –adventure video game “Grand Theft Auto 6.”

It should be noted however that Rockstar did not make any announcement about what it plans to do during the Playstation Meeting except confirm that it shall be around to participate in the event.

It was actually tipster, Tidux, who made the disclosure of the “GTA 6” getting an update announcement from Rockstar on September 7 through a cryptic post he made on Twitter on August 12.

However, some critics do not share the hint made by Tidux, saying that Rockstar Games is better off announcing first an update or even the release date of the open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” during the upcoming event than say something about “GTA 6.”

After all, “Red Dead Redemption 2” has been widely speculated to come out ahead of “GTA.“ As such, announcing something about “GTA 6” during the event when everyone else was expecting an update on “Red Dead Redemption 2” would make Rockstar Games look ridiculous, notes the International Business Times of Australia.

Coming out with VR option

There are also reports saying that if and when the “GTA 6” does not hit the video game shelves within the next two years, it is likely to come out already with a virtual reality (VR) option.

Critics believe that by 2019, VR technology would be more refined already so Rockstar Games could take advantage of it by including the feature on the sixth installment of its most successful video game franchise.

Most of the rumors about “GTA 6” have been fairly consistent although there is one new that made the rounds online about the possible setting of the game.

According to a report, “GTA 6” shall have a location of London but it will be the London of the 60s and not the modern city and capital of the United Kingdom.

The last time that the game was rumored to have an announcement was during the Gamescom 2016 held in Cologne, Germany last month but Rockstar was a no-show so there was no announcement at all about “GTA 6” or “Red Dead Redemption 2,” notes iTech Post.

Not going to happen

With the PlayStation Meeting as the next big gaming event, the rumors about the event becoming another springboard occasion for Rockstar to announce something about “GTA 6” or “Red Dead Redemption 2” are also being met by some critics with pessimism.

They aver that both “GTA 6” and “Red Dead Redemption 2” shall be released on both the gaming platforms of Sony and Microsoft so it does not speak well for those gamers who play on Xbox One to see games being launched during an exclusive Sony and PlayStation event.

The launching or announcement would make sense if the two games shall come out exclusively on the PlayStation 4 but since it shall also be released on the Xbox One, the September 7 launching or announcement from Rockstar Games is suspect.

There are also speculations stating that it is possible that “GTA 6” might release in 2020 because it shall already be coming out in the next generation gaming consoles – the Xbox Two, and the PlayStation 5.

Waiting for the next generation gaming consoles to come out will be good for Rockstar Games and the “GTA 6” because it would already be capable of supporting the features that gamers are envisioning for the game including VR technology, among a few more.

The gameplay of “GTA 6” is also reported to change slightly from its predecessor, focusing more on realistic driving experiences.
