Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 to Open by Exploring the Relationship of Alex and Jo, Old Characters Coming Back? Let’s See

Even though some may claim that “Grey’s Anatomy” has been around for too long already, the show is still obviously going strong and doesn’t look like it will lose its major viewership anytime soon. There are plenty of reasons for that, but the fact that the producers are willing to take risks has played a major part in determining the success of the production. At the same time, they never forgot the roots of the show and where it all started, and they frequently go back to revisit some old moments, which is apparently planned for season 13 as well.

But before that, we are going to see a plot arc dedicated to the relationship between Alex and Jo, and the writers will dig deep into the two characters this time. It’s not clear if the lingering tension between them will finally be resolved, but it’s been implied that the season is going to start off with some “explosive” moments between the two.

Hopefully they are going to sort everything out in the end and Jo will finally open up about her issues. Many fans of the show want to see the two of them taking their relationship to the next level, and there don’t seem to be any clear barriers for that to happen right now either, so it’s frustrating that Jo is being so distant for seemingly no good reason. Of course, her reluctance to reveal what’s bothering her is likely going to be a major plot element in the beginning of the new season, which would explain why the writers wanted to keep it for later.

The main theory right now is that Jo has had another marriage in her past and she feels insecure about it, which is why she doesn’t want to be so open about that part of her life. That would certainly explain certain details about her refusal to marry Alex, but at the same time it’s a bit too obvious as an answer, leading some fans to believe that there might be more beneath the surface.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors that we could see some favorite old characters coming back for an episode or two. More specifically, it’s possible that we will see Christina again, but it’s not clear if Sandra Oh will fully reprise her role, or if she will just make a brief appearance over several episodes.

One thing is certain though – bringing Christina back will have some harsh implications for other characters, mostly Amelia, so even if she appears for a short period of time this could be a disastrous period for those around her. It’s very likely that the writers want to use her as a catalyst for another development in the plot, but it remains to be seen what that is. It’s also possible that she will find herself entangled in a completely new mess this time, as the writers might want to use her in a fresh way.

Grey's Anatomy Season 13

Other than that, it sounds like the first episode of season 13 will be quite dramatic on multiple other fronts as well, such as the relationship between Meredith and Maggie. We don’t know if the writers of the show are intentionally planning on starting the season with a bang just so they can drive things at a calmer pace later on, or if the dramatic nature of the first episode is indicative of how the season will be run as a whole, but both sound like interesting options.
