Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Explores Jo’s Past, Jackson and April Reconcile, Will Alex Be Imprisoned?

Grey’s Anatomy is one of the longest running medical drama series. The series has made millions of viewers cry after it killed off Dr. Derek Shepherd at the end of Season 11. Many felt that the show has lost its charm, but it doesn’t look like Grey’s Anatomy is over yet.

ABC renewed the series for the thirteenth season and officially released the trailer for the same. The trailer picks up from where Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 ended. Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) hitting De Luca (Giacomo Gianniotti) after he thought that something was brewing between Jo (Camilla Luddington) and De Luca.

Karev looks set for some jail time after the brutal attack on De Luca. There is a chance that the incident might ruin his relationship with Jo as well. Season 13 will focus on Jo and her past. Fans will learn that she had run away from her past and had carved out a new identity for herself.

Season 9 of Grey’s Anatomy introduced Jo as a strong and independent woman. She was abandoned by her mother and has given her all to turn her life for the better. She is tough and can take care of herself. One of the things that drew Alex towards her. Jo was an instant hit with the viewers of Grey’s Anatomy.

Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, said that she loves Jo for being a character who had reinvented herself. She has had terrible things happen to her in the past and has survived it all.

Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly that the act of being a survivor is what threatens her current relationship. Viewers should also be prepared to learn the identity of Jo’s ex-husband.

Shonda Rhimes is very picky about her characters. Since she had allowed Jo and Alex’s relationship to continue for three seasons, fans felt that Rhimes had some interesting plans for them. All of which will start unfurling in the upcoming season.

Season 12 had also ended Callie (Sarah Ramirez) and Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) relationship. The couple fights a nasty battle for the custody of their daughter Sophia. With Arizona winning the custody, there wasn’t much for Callie’s character to do in the previous season.

Rhimes had hinted at Sarah Ramirez leaving the show. Callie and Arizona’s separation seems to be the perfect departure for Sarah Ramirez who will not be back for Grey’s Anatomy Season 13. With Callie out of the picture, Arizona is likely to find a new partner.

Game N Guide reported that Arizona would fall in love once again. The identity of Arizona’s new love interest is still under wrap. t won’t be until the third episode that the new character is introduced. Jessica Capshaw had recently given birth to her daughter, and she will be absent from the first two episodes of Grey’s Anatomy Season 13.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 13

Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) was coming to terms with the death of her husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd in Season 12. She was balancing her work and kids and trying to return to normalcy. Meredith got her half-sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) to move in with her to help her out with the kids.

She had never shared a close relationship Maggie, but they were working things now. Season 12 saw Meredith having a one night stand with Riggs (Martin Henderson). This incident indicated that she was trying to move on with her life, but Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 is going to throw more light on the incident.

The man Meredith ended up having a one night stand with was Maggie’s love interest, and now things are going to get messy.
