Many characters seem to be in a strange place in “Grey’s Anatomy”, as the show has been putting them through quite the tests. Alex in particular seems still determined to do what he must, despite the way things have been working out for him lately, and it looks like he also has solid support in his efforts.
However, he is also learning little by little that he should avoid certain events if he doesn’t want to feel hurt, although some suspect that perhaps he doesn’t actually mind his situation at all. In the end, Alex has a lot to make up for, and those around him are right to question his motives, so he will probably have to keep putting a lot of effort into his relationships if he wants to make them work.
At the same time, while he has the support of some, others are trying to exploit his situation and his past with the team, especially those above him. As a result, Alex has found himself getting pushed around often, and he practically has no choice but to endure it for as long as he can.
In the latest episode, he was given a peculiar case to work on, involving a seemingly ordinary alcoholic. As any avid fan of the show can probably guess, the situation quickly turned out to be anything but ordinary, although some fans were seemingly surprised by the final twist.
Elsewhere on the show, some characters seem a bit confused with their current situations, such as Owen and Amelia who are apparently finding it hard to overcome certain details about one another. Their marriage has been on a downward trend for some time, and it looked like most of their issues could be resolved by simply talking – and that’s exactly what we saw them doing in the latest episode.
Hopefully they’re going to continue along the same path and will eventually recover their marriage, as it would be a shame to see an otherwise so fitting couple fall apart due to simple communication problems.
But perhaps that’s the point the producers are trying to make with the characters – that communication issues in a relationship always tend to look easy and simple to an outside observer, but they can be a convoluted mess to someone actually involved in the situation.
Things can be especially difficult for a couple that moves forward as quickly as Amelia and Owen, and perhaps slowing down a bit and having some more in-depth conversations is all they really need in order to resolve their problems.
Last but not least, we also saw some movement on the front with Maggie and Nathan, although most fans and critics seem to agree that this was anything but an exciting development. Maggie actually seems to be getting on some fans’ nerves with her inability to get over her crush on Nathan, and the longer the writers keep drawing this out, the more negatively it’s going to affect the show in the eyes of those fans.
And currently, they appear to be a significant portion of the show’s viewers, so the producers should definitely pay attention to what people are saying online, and change the direction of that story sooner or later. A new love interest for Maggie would actually work wonders in many ways, as it would also make her character more interesting for those who see her as dull.
