Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 to See Dr. Miranda Bailey Flapping Her Wings as New Chief of Surgery on Episode 2!

The second episode of Season 12 of the American medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” is due to air on ABC on October 2 and based on the synopsis, it seems that Dr. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson, will begin to flap her wings as the new Chief of Surgery of the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

During the premiere episode of Season 12, Dr. Bailey has overwhelmed another candidate for the Chief of Surgery position after impressing both Dr. Catherine Avery, played by Debbie Allen, and Dr. Richard Webber, played by James Pickens Jr.

However, the lofty position and how she coveted it may have gotten over his head and that is the reason why the title of the second episode is “Walking Tall,” which is what Dr. Bailey will be all about.

In fact, Dr. Callie Torres, played by Sara Ramirez, will immediately notice the change in the attitude of Dr. Bailey that she will refer to her again as the Nazi, which will spread around the hospital.

The promotion would also get quickly into her head and that would also change the way she interacts with colleagues, which would only pique most of her colleagues in the hospital, notes the Christian Post.

Accordingly, Dr. Bailey will even have an argument with Dr. Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams over certain matters including the possible infection of his wife, Dr. April Kepner, played by Sarah Drew.

Infected with MERS?

After returning from her short military stint in Jordan on the ultimatum of her husband, Dr. Kepner will suffer from an anonymous disease that will put her into an isolation bubble.

It will be Dr. Arizona Robbins, played by Jessica Capshaw, who will notice the mysterious rash on her back while the two of them were dressing for their shift. The rash is made up of red, splotchy patches which would force Arizona to put on a surgical mask to protect herself from whatever disease April may be carrying, details the International Business Times.

While April felt that her colleagues are overreacting from her stupid rash, it was Dr. Bailey who ordered her locked away because she is not willing to allow the spread of epidemic on the hospital right on her first day as Chief of Surgery.

Jackson will eventually theorize that his wife is suffering from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome or MERS disease given the kind of symptoms she is showing plus the fact that she just came from the Middle East.

Dr. Bailey is confident that they can cure whatever virus is lurking inside of April and she proclaimed it with pride by saying that the disease stops with Patient Zero, before walking tall yet again.

On the bright side, the disease that is besetting April could be the perfect reason for her and Jackson towards getting closer to one another again or it could only worsen their already precarious relationship state as it is.

Home buddies

Meanwhile, Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, in her desire to move on fast from the death of her husband, have brought in as her housemates her colleagues Dr. Maggie Pierce, played by Kelly McCreary, who is also her half-sister, and sister-in-law Dr. Amelia Shepherd, played by Caterina Scorsone.

However, there will be plenty of adjustments on Dr. Grey’s path because the two will drive her crazy especially when it comes to their respective principles in home decorating.

Grey's Anatomy Season 12

Before the Season 12 began, actor Jason George, who plays Dr. Ben Warren, the husband of Dr. Miranda Bailey in the TV series, says that the upcoming season of “Grey’s Anatomy” is close to being a reboot because there have been a lot of things that changed to make everyone feel that it is a brand new show.

However, he added that the TV series still has the lightness and sense of humor that people and viewers fell in love with in “Grey’s Anatomy” in the first place.
