Of course there is a certain level of respect that a television show gets from fans when it cam make it through the tenth season. That is what is happening with Grey’s Anatomy and the fact that the show is about to start its twelfth season. The medical show has been on the ABC network since it replaced another show mid-season back in 2005. The show centers around interns and surgeons as they grow into better doctors while also trying to grow into better people.
The characters form relationships and try to keep everything as professional as they can at the same time. The show is set in Seattle, but is primarily shot in Los Angeles. With the twelfth season of the show coming up, it is important to note that there will be some spoilers posted online as the premiere nears. From what fans can tell by reading online is that the show is back, it will add another doctor to the mix and Kathrine Heigl is set to return to the show as well.
The last season ended with quite a shocker when it was revealed that Patrick Dempsey’s character was not going to return after the season. That kind of information opens up so many questions for fans and it looks like the network is set to answer as many of them as possible. Back in 2010, another main character played by Heigl was removed from the show and it looks like rumors are suggesting that she is lined up to come back in Grey’s Anatomy season 12.
One of the main reasons that the rumor was started is that Heigl had another show on NBC called State of Affairs, but that was recently cancelled. In a recent interview, Heigl opened up about Dempsey as a friend and about his departure from the show. She says that she was a little shocked when Dr. Derek Shepherd was killed of and that she cannot realize the show without “McDreamy”. Season twelve has a little work to do in terms of casting now, but it is coming along according to sources. The new doctor that is lined up to join the cast is played by Martin Henderson.
Along with the new doctor, the plot lines are reportedly going to keep fans from looking at the past. The exact role of Henderson’s character are not being talked about at all at this point, leaving plenty of room for speculation from fans. Part of moving to the next season is forgetting that Derek Shepherd has died and getting to know the new cast. For a show that has been on so long, that is difficult for fans to do as they watch expecting to see the same main characters.
