Gran Turismo 7 to Hit the Market in 2015/2016, New Job Openings on the Team!

The team behind “Gran Turismo 7” has been hard at work on their new game, but there’s still a long way to go before it’s ready for a release, according to reports. This is also reinforced by the fact that the company has recently posted some public job openings for the development team, indicating that the game can’t be that far ahead in its development, or that major new additions are planned to the already built platform.

According to the job offer’s description, there are various open positions in the studio at the moment, all of them on the development side. The list includes several types of engineers as well as different artists, which is a clear indication that the development of this game is being taken seriously, and Polyphony seem to really want to pull off a good product with this installment.

Previous statements from the game’s original creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated that the company is indeed planning to try something more interesting for the next game in the series, attempting to deliver a noticeably better experience to the fans. This will be much easier compared to the development process for “Gran Turismo 6”, which was reportedly hindered severely by the PS3 platform. Sony have apparently done a lot to remedy the situation in the PS4, however, as Yamauchi said that making “Gran Turismo 7” has been overall a lot easier so far.

This isn’t the first time game developers have complained about the PS3 and the difficulty in developing for it – Valve’s head Gabe Newell has previously expressed his frustration with the platform, to the point where the company briefly stepped away from supporting the PS3, although they backtracked on that decision later.

“Gran Turismo 6” was met with mixed responses by fans of the series, and some were severely let down with the quality of the game. Polyphony explained that the game’s condition was due to the challenging development process, so hopefully “Gran Turismo 7” will indeed manage to restore the faith of old fans of the franchise.

The game is expected to take full advantage of the PS4’s capabilities, offering improved performance in every aspect, especially in the graphics department. The game will also be more challenging, with AI that performs better than its old counterparts, and plays more creatively – owing to the better CPU it’s running on, naturally. Designing quality, fun AI has actually been a common problem for developers for a long time now, and it would be curious to see this being addressed in a racing game, of all possibilities. But if “Gran Turismo 7” shows success in this, it’s likely that other developers will follow suit.
