With features like VR support, it could definitely see a resurgence in its popularity, but hopefully those features aren’t going to come at the price of poor implementation in other areas of the gameplay. After all, it’s going to take some development effort to implement VR support, and it could interfere with the game in other regards.
But the studio behind this title is well aware of how their production works and what they need to do in order to get the next title right – especially after learning a thing or two from the development of “Gran Turismo 6”.
With all this in mind, we expect to see something grand from “Gran Turismo 7”, and the game could easily become the next big thing not just in the racing genre, but on the gaming market as a whole.
There is a lot of potential still left in this franchise and Polyphony Digital are a studio with some serious determination to realize that potential, so we have full expectations that the next game is going to at least make an attempt to refresh the franchise, if it doesn’t push it forward with full force. After some time, we’ll find out what they have been doing behind their closed doors.
