Previous reports were saying that the car racing video game “Gran Turismo 7” will hit the PlayStation 4, where it shall come out exclusively, sometime in 2017. But game developer Polyphony Digital has yet to come out with an official announcement or statement to specify the exact release date of the highly-anticipated car racing video game.
However, it seems that Polyphony Digital, has been stepping up on the gas on game development of “Gran Turismo 7” following news last month that it was going on a hiring binge for key talents, reports Dual Shockers.
Polyphony Digital has actually posted 13 new key positions which shall likely be involved actively in the development of “Gran Turismo 7.”
The positions that Polyphony intends to fill up include AI Engineer, Online Engineer, Graphics Engineer, Game Engine Development Engineers, Game Script Engineers, Sound Development Engineer, Data Engineer, Test Build Engineer, Pipeline Tool Development Engineer, Mobile Application Engineer, In-House Tool Development Engineer, Vehicle Simulation Development Engineer, and Physics Engine Development Engineer.
Since the ad posting was made early last month, it is likely that the game developer has filled up most, if not all of the key positions by this time.
With that being said, it is also likely that the game developer is now preparing to go full steam on the development of “Gran Turismo 7” very soon. While Polyphony Digital is not saying anything at all at this time, it is likely that it will be working on completing and perhaps releasing the seventh installment of the popular car racing video game earlier than 2017.
Interesting job requirements
The Gaming Bolt actually dissected the job requirements of Polyphony Digital and it noted some interesting observations.
In the case of AI Engineer, for example, the game developer is looking to develop a more human-like AI that recognizes every changing conditions and tracks.
In the case of the Sound Engineer position, for instance, Polyphony Digital wants the “Gran Turismo 7” to simulate the real word and audio is no exception.
The other positions also require qualifications and credentials beyond the ordinary so Polyphony is obviously looking for the best in the field in order to come up with the best car racing video game ever when “Gran Turismo 7” finally rolls out to the PlayStation 4 soon.
One thing is certain at this time, the sudden acceleration in hiring only indicate that the game developer is now getting close to the announcement of the release date of the game on the PlayStation 4.
Hanging on to standard cars
Series creator of the car racing video game franchise “Gran Turismo” Kazunori Yamauchi previously said that the seventh installment of the series will feature more premium cars that shall represent modern day racing. He mentioned that those premium cars will represent the 2015 and 2016 era.
However, the so-called premium cars will not actually replace the standard racing cars that are currently in the game’s roster but will just add on to them.
In a recent interview, Yamauchi said that he doubts very much if they will throw away the standard cars. He said that the upcoming “Gran Turismo 7” will hang on to the archive.
He added that some of the standard cars can actually be turned into premium cars as they become available, but he said that “Gran Turismo 7” is more focused on increasing the number of premium cars.
One Italian website recently caught up with the Japanese game creator of “Gran Turismo 7” and he was asked if the car racing video game will indeed come out in 2017.
Yamauchi said that he and the development team at Polyphony Digital do not want gamers and fans of the video game to wait that long.
While Yamauchi has not said an exact release date for “Gran Turismo 7” exclusively on the PlayStation 4, just like its predecessors, many are saying that based on the hint of the game creator, it is likely that the car racing video game would finally be rolled out sometime next year.
