The “Gran Turismo” franchise has gone through its ups and downs, but many gamers still see it with a lot of endearment and are strongly attached to the racing games. The developers of the series also seem determined to do the best they can with the next game they’re bringing out, and we’ve heard various rumors about what “Gran Turismo 7” could bring to the table. Many fans have high hopes for this title as it should restore some trust in the franchise, something it could definitely benefit from after the relatively poor last release.
Currently, not much is actually known about “Gran Turismo 7”, even the release date of the game, but rumors about it are becoming more and more common, and currently there are some claims that we might see it out in a beta version at some point during this year. However, it seems like the studio has a slightly different focus for the time being – “Gran Turismo Sports” is coming out in a few months, and that has been occupying their attention, according to reports.
The announcement that this release will arrive to the market at some point in the earlier months of 2016 was met with mixed reactions from the community. On one hand, some were happy that a new “Gran Turismo” is coming out, but on the other, there was a lot of disappointment that the next game will not be “Gran Turismo 7”. Still, there are some rumors that the seventh installment in the series is being worked on quite actively as well, and the beta is getting closer and closer.
What exactly will the new game do for the franchise? Supposedly, its development was much easier this time around thanks to the fact that the studio didn’t have to worry about a messy situation with their platforms, like they did with “Gran Turismo 6”. Because of this, they’ve apparently been able to put much more effort into the game’s overall development and they’ve focused more actively on things like graphics and gameplay, as opposed to putting them in the background while they are trying to focus on optimizing the title properly.
If that turns out to be true – and given the fact that the game is coming out for the PS4, we believe it could – it could breathe a lot of fresh air into the franchise and bring it back to life in one swift move, and that could work out very well for the developers themselves too. As we said above, “Gran Turismo” is a franchise with a significant history, and it has a special place in the hearts of many gamers, so releasing a new game under that name which fixes some of the outstanding issues of the one before it could be a very good move for the studio. It will also set them up for even more successful releases in the future, as fans will be more inclined to trust them again.
All in all, Polyphony can do a lot of good with this version of the game, and if they are looking into releasing a public beta for it too, then they are obviously dedicated to making it a successful release and finely polishing every aspect of it. We’re curious to see what the game could look like when it reaches beta status, and what kinds of bugs its fans will be able to figure out. Hopefully the collective efforts of the community are going to help the developers make this the most stable release they’ve done so far.
