‘Graceland’ Would Have Been Renewed for Season 4 if its Creativity Generated Good Ratings!

Unfortunately, those hopes proved to be false as the USA Network decided the fate of the show based on its commercial value. While “Graceland” did fairly well with an average of 1.7 million viewers every week, 784,000 of those viewers were from the highly sought-after adults segment, 18 to 49 years old demographic.

Season 3 of “Graceland” has averaged only 0.85 million total viewers per episode, which is a 32% decline compared to Season 2.

However, there have been TV series in the past that were not doing well in the ratings game but when they got canceled and revived by a different network, they did better. It would be interesting to find out if “Graceland” would be able to join the roster of such TV series in the future.

Leaving a huge cliffhanger during the Season 3 finale of “Graceland” was a big gamble on the part of the producers of the TV series because should the network does not decide to renew the show for a fourth season, and no other network or streaming service decides to rescue it from cancellation, they will only draw the frustration of the fans, the way it happened to “Constantine” on The CW, and “The Following” on Fox last year.

The Season 3 finale of “Graceland” showed ICE Agent Dale Jakes, played by Brandon Jay McLaren, getting into a fight with FBI Agent Jose ‘Johnny’ Turturro, played by Manny Montana, and then taking the $9 million loot as well as Courtney.

  1. It was a terrible show.

It got no ratings for a very good reason: it was un-enjoyable!

    Simple as that.

All talk of its “creativity” was just Pr hype and the public saw through it.
