This means that the photos and videos taken by the GoPro Hero 5 will be automatically tagged with the user’s location and stored in the metadata which would be useful when the user shares content on social media. It will also make EXIF info readily available.
In addition, the GPS of the device could also be used to track other things for the user including elevation or speed so that he or she can see how far he or she has dropped while on a particularly daring snowboarding session or bungee jumping stunt perhaps.
The GPS feature of the GoPro Hero 5 is the latest inclusion to the rumored specifications and capabilities of the action camera including a new interface, more streamlined controls, a touch screen, and a major design upgrade from its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4.
