There have been plenty of speculations and rumors about the GoPro Hero 5. The only thing that came out clear about the device from the American camcorder company is that from its previous October 2015 release date, it has been pushed back to a 2016 official rollout.
However, up until now, there is no specific date in 2016 when the GoPro Hero 5 shall make its formal splash in the action camera market.
What GoPro assured is that it will come out in 2016 and when it does, it is set to take the mantle as the best videographic equipment in the world.
Latest reports also say that GoPro will also launch another device in 2016 other than the Hero 5. Accordingly, the company shall also be unveiling a new quadcopter, commonly referred to nowadays as a drone, next year.
It was actually GoPro founder and CEO Nick Woodman who first hinted about it, but it was only a few weeks ago that the company has come out with an official name for it. Apparently, it is to be called as the GoPro Karma, notes the Christian Today.
Woodman did not say anything much about the GoPro Karma, but he did assure action camera fanatics that the device would bring a real ‘Oh my God moment’ to users.
The company has reportedly released an official teaser for the GoPro Karma which also mentioned the tentative release date and what the drone is capable of shooting.
Topnotch features
It has been reported that the GoPro Hero 5 will come out with topnotch features including its superb capability to do high-quality underwater video shooting, notes Valuewalk.
Most of the GoPro action cameras have waterproof capabilities. The GoPro Hero 5 shall have a special camera housing to ensure that it can still operate even up to a depth of 60 meters. The Hero 4 came with a waterproofing capability for up to a depth of 20 meters underwater only.
Because the action camera has an excellent waterproof rating, the GoPro Hero 5 is also expected to produce premium shots both under and out of the water. By premium shots, it also means that the photos and videos that will be captured by the action camera will be smoother and crisper.
Consistent with previous reports, the GoPro Hero 5 shall be able to shoot 8K videos, which is a staggering resolution at least when it comes out next year.
One of the most exciting features of the upcoming action camera is the fact that it will actually double the video recording resolutions of previous GoPro action cameras in the GoPro series.
With its superb 4320-pixel resolution, the GoPro Hero 5 will sport a jaw-dropping Full Ultra HD video recording capability, also known as 8K.
Under Full Ultra HD quality, the video will be presented with eight thousand lines of resolution. But it comes with a trade-off as the high-resolution video will consume more battery power of the device and will eat more storage space in the device’s internal memory.
However, there is a drawback for using the Full Ultra HD mode because it actually decreases the framerate of the device. However, the user has the option to switch the device at 4K resolution to enjoy 60 frames per second framerate during video recording.
Reports also say that the GoPro Hero 5 shall embrace a dual-lens setup that will enable the action camera to capture 3D images and motion.
