GoPro Hero 5 to Become the Next Generation Extreme Action Camcorder When it Hits the Market in 2016!

A lot have been said about the groundbreaking specifications and features of the GoPro Hero 5 which are sure to make it the best videographic equipment in the world when it finally comes out to the retail markets next year.

GoPro Hero, Inc. was initially planning to roll out the GoPro Hero 5 in October this year but the camcorder company based in San Mateo, California decided to incorporate superb features to the action camera that is why it has deferred its unveiling to next year.

The company has yet to specify, however, the exact release date of the GoPro Hero 5 to the global retail markets next year, leaving everything to speculations of its anxiously waiting fans and prospective buyers.

What is certain at this point is that when the latest iteration to GoPro’s action camera gets into the market next year, it is expected to become the next generation high-definition extreme action camcorder anywhere in the world, cites the Christian Today.

A bearish market sentiment

While the postponement on the release of the GoPro Hero 5 has something to do with the technical nature of its development, the decision does not bode well with the company’s marketing and sales departments.

Because the company will not have a new product in the fourth quarter of the year, which can capitalize on the usually high degree of consumer spending brought about by the holiday season, the delay in the release of the GoPro Hero 5 will have a negative effect on the company’s sales bottom line, notes Realty Today.

According to analysts, the delay in the launch of the GoPro Hero 5 has resulted to the prevailing bearish sentiment on the company’s stock.

It is projected that GoPro would suffer a major drop in its sales on a year-over-year basis for the fourth quarter. Historically, the company always launches a new Hero camera towards the holidays season.

Instead, the company released the GoPro Hero LCD in June before launching the GoPro Hero 4 Session in July this year.

Fluctuating stock prices

Since last month, the stock of GoPro has dropped after news that the launching of the Hero 5 will be pushed back. However, there are signs lately that stock price of the company is geared towards recovery soon enough.

It has been said that the main cause for the decline in the stock price of GoPro is the setback in the Chinese market, which is part of its top 10 revenue contributors.

GoPro has yet to come out with a specific release date for the Hero 5 but it is likely that the rumors about the device coming out with a size that is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than its predecessor appears to be true considering the dimension of the GoPro Hero Session 4 when it came out in July.

There have been speculations over the past few weeks that in addition to its superb features and capabilities, the GoPro Hero 5, will come out cheaper than its predecessor, the Hero 4, when it finally hits the market in 2016.

This is obviously one of the most ironic hypes for the upcoming action camera, perhaps not of the company’s doing but likely its fans.

Logic dictates that once new and modern technologies are incorporated into a device, it follows that it comes with added cost. So it would be a losing proposition for GoPro to incorporate pricey modern features to its latest camera if it would price it lower than its predecessor. It would not simply make good business sense at all.

The more palatable notion is that GoPro Hero 5 may come out with a price that shall approximate that of the GoPro Hero 4, which is meant more as a business or pricing strategy.

  1. There are so many other good action cameras on the market. They are as good as GpPros but less expensive. One if the most interesting among them is Drift Stealth (and Ghost too). Small, sleek and aerodynamic camera with high quality videos. I think it may be an important competitor for gp.
