The GoPro CEO also explained that the company will release an entirely new video editing experience on the Hero 5 that shall enable users to make a strikingly good video edits in minutes.

The company has also come up with the GoPro awards program which incentivizes users to upload and share better GoPro videos on their social media networks. The video editing on the Hero 5 would really make the task easier.

Both the new camera and the software will come ready for the forthcoming cloud service, with GoPro’s desktop content management application slated for release ahead of October 2016.

Woodman explained that connected for Hero 5 refers to simpler controls and tight integration with the mobile, desktop, and cloud tools which are a lot better than a boost in resolution or camera quality.

Reports also have it that GoPro will play it safe when it comes to pricing the Hero 5. Accordingly, its price will be in the range of $450 to $550.

Because of its inability to launch the GoPro Hero 5 last year as it promised earlier, the income of the American camcorder company has significantly dropped. It also had to trim down the retail price of its Hero 4 from $399 to $199 in an attempt to perk up the sales of its latest action camera.
