GoPro Hero 5: The Water Resistant and Voice Responsive Installment, Sturdier and Better

GoPro has released its latest version which is full of features. This has already led to many purchases. One of the major features is the automatic backup which will be a huge help in keeping the user’s files safe.

The automatic backup can be activated in GoPro Hero 5, but it will require a software update for the action camera. The device asks the user to sign in and enjoy a free trial period of 60-days for GoPro Plus account holders and 30-days for iOS users.

Backing the files up can be easily activated by switching the auto upload on to their clouds. It will start the backup as soon as the action camera detects a WiFi connection. The action camera has to have a full battery for the feature to work. The GoPro Hero 5 was released last month with several attractive features including 4K videos at 30 frames per second.

Another feature that grabs the attention of buyers is that it is water resistant even without a separate waterproof gear. It can bear water up to 33 feet. The two variants of the action camera are Black and Session. GoPro Hero 5 Black is a rugged version of the previous installment, and whereas GoPro Hero 5 Session looks like a cube. They both weigh the same at 118 lbs.

GoPro Hero 5 appears to be sleeker that the three previously released models. It has more curvy edges and a semi-rubber body giving a better grip. The Hero 5 also adds to itself a touch screen which makes navigation, swiping and toggling easier to handle than before.

The underwater sound quality has also been improved wherein there would be no vacuum-like sound. GoPro Hero 5 is comparatively stronger than its other variant and previous installments. Reviews suggest that Hero 5 beats Xiaomi Yi 4K action camera in underwater shoots.

The independent review of GoPro Hero 5 Black suggests that falls in the superior category. While there are positives like better image quality, user interface, and design, there are minute negatives as well. The on-screen menus appear slightly complicated, and the images often appear to be too warm.

GoPro has soon become synonymous to action cameras due to the variety of mounts and user-friendly accessories. GoPro Hero 5 Black not only has a rubber body, but it also has lens protection, and gasket sealed doors for the battery compartments and ports. This helps the device live up to its tag of being waterproof to the ultimate level.

The GoPro also adds to the underwater experience by giving an optional Super Suit which would cost 50 dollars. It could house the device up to 196 feet making scuba diving possible. The screen on the GoPro Hero 5 enables a colorful live preview and the ability to review footage on the screen itself.

Initially, the GoPro’s mobile app for Android and Apple made it easier in the previous models to access the navigations around the device’s settings and options. With the addition of the screen, the inconvenience has been reduced majorly, but the app is still going to be handy.

The app gives details of the battery as well spa left on the SD Card as well. It acts as a complete access remote control for the camera, which comes in handy when it is harnessed or joined to the helmet or handle.

The show-stopper is the voice control in GoPro. It responds to the command “OK, GoPro.” The commands cover every feature from starting a video shoot to taking pictures and shut down as well. To indicate that the camera has received and understood the command, it ends with a beep sound.
