There are also reports saying that HTC and Huawei have been commissioned by Google to do each of its upcoming flagship smartphones. HTC shall be doing the high-end Pixel XL or the Marlin while Huawei will be manufacturing the Pixel X or the Sailfish.
In terms of price, the speculations are also saying that the Google Nexus 7 2016 shall be a budget friendly flagship smartphone and as such its base model, which is likely the Pixel X or the Sailfish shall reportedly come out with a retail price of $260.
However, all these remain as speculations pending the official confirmation or denial from Google.
Prior to the rumored October 4 release date, previous rumors were saying that the latest flagship smartphones from Google shall come out in November. In fact, one website specifically mentioned that the Google Nexus 7 2016 shall be released on November 24.
However, Google has yet to confirm or deny this new release date rumors so it should still be taken with a fine grain of salt.
