Google Nexus 7 2016 Possible Launching Next Month But Handsets Would Make it to the Retail Markets Before the Holiday Season!

It has been previously reported that the latest flagship smartphones from Google, the Nexus 7 2016 and its variants, shall officially come out on October 4.

It seems that the October launching is confirmed for the devices which shall officially be renamed as Google Pixel X and Google Pixel XL instead of the Sailfish and Marlin that were previously reported.

Reports now have it that the handsets may possibly come out before this year’s Holiday Season, which means that it could happen either late in November or early December.

As far as the specifications of the Google Nexus 7 2016 are concerned, the rumors are fairly consistent. The high-end variant will come equipped with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which is to be paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit (GPU), reports the Christian Times.

The Pixel XL shall reportedly sport a 7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

The smartphone shall have a 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB with an option for expansion via a microSD card slot up to a humungous 2TB.

It shall also feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and shall already come out with Android 7.0 Nougat already onboard.

Switching manufacturers

It seems that Google has also switched manufacturers for the Google Nexus 7 2016. It can be recalled that the first and second-generation Nexus devices were made by Taiwanese tech company, Asus.

It has previously been reported that Huawei shall be working on the development of the Google Nexus 7 2016, but the Chinese manufacturer did not confirm it. However, it did say that they will collaborate with Google in its other projects.

In an official company statement, Huawei said that they do not comment on future projects as a matter of policy. It added that they are proud to have worked with Google, which the Chinese firm describes as very strong in innovation. Huawei worked with Google through the Nexus 6P, details the Vine Report.

Huawei also explained that they will continue to collaborate with Google in the future including its support for Daydream, the recently-announced platform for high-performance mobile virtual reality (VR).

Doing away with the Nexus brand

There is a fascinating news going around for fans who have been waiting for the Google Nexus 7 2016 to come out. They were expecting the device to come out about the same time as the Android 7.0 Nougat since the smartphones are to become Google’s latest flagship smartphones and there is no better way to introduce it than to have it coming out with the Android Nougat first among other Android devices.

Unfortunately, when the Android 7.0 Nougat officially came out on August 22, there was no Google Nexus 7 2016 and as such the latest Google mobile operating system shall come out first on the LG V20 handset out of the box.

The reports that followed said that the Google Nexus 7 2016, which shall be in the form of two handsets, namely the Sailfish and the Marlin, shall come out around November instead.

Subsequently, rumors also started coming out that Google wanted to do away with the brand Nexus on its flagship smartphones.

Latest reports now have it that Google is indeed planning to launch two variants of its latest Nexus flagship smartphone and the American tech company has indeed done away with the Nexus brand. As a matter of fact, Google’s upcoming flagship smartphones are to be called as the Pixel X and the Pixel XL.

The Sailfish shall be the Pixel X and the Marlin shall be the Pixel XL and the same reports are saying that it would come out on October 4 during Google’s special event

The latest rumors seem to indicate that only the names of the Google flagship smartphones have been changed but the previously reported specifications are the same.
