George Lucas Finds Trailer of ‘Star Wars 7’ Quite Intriguing!

George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars movie saga and the director of four of the six Star Wars film, finds the latest trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” quite intriguing.

It was intriguing for him not because he finds something wrong with it but because he likes the trailer of the seventh installment of the Star Wars movie franchise, cites Yahoo! News.

Although the trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been released on November 28, which has generated more than 14 million views on YouTube already, George Lucas has not had the opportunity to watch it until recently.

The producer, writer, and director says that he does not watch movies or trailers online and it was only just recently that he managed to catch the trailer of “Star Wars 7” on the big screen.

Upon seeing the trailer for himself, he said he likes it because it was intriguing, which was a credit and a major pat on the back on J.J. Abrams, who helmed the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The movie is due to hit theaters on December 18, 2015, one week before Christmas.

George Lucas has an upcoming movie titled “Strange Magic” which will hit the theaters this week. He describes the movie as a conflict between fairies and goblins and that it is a film for 12-year-old girls.

An all-new Star Wars

When Disney acquired Lucas Films for $4 billion in October 2012, it also acquired the rights for the seventh installment of the Star Wars movie saga, which at that time was already being developed or put together by George Lucas.

Now that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is nearly complete, many are wondering whether Disney and director J.J. Abrams made use of those raw ideas of George Lucas.

Cinema Blend has the story on it when it reported that while George Lucas ideas on the seventh installment of the Star Wars movie saga was also part of the materials bought by Disney with the acquisition of Lucas Films, the company opted not to take on those concepts and come up with its own.

No less than George Lucas confirmed the answer when he admitted that none of his ideas were taken or used in the new film.

But he does not mind at all because when he sold Lucas Films to Disney in 2012, he was no longer thinking about the money but the time he has to spend for himself and his family.

In 2012, he was already thinking of developing another Star Wars trilogy but the Disney offer came at just the right time. He would have spent himself another 10 years writing and thinking about the next set of Star Wars trilogy had Disney did not buy Lucas Films.

He is also happy that he has already passed on the Star Wars torch and given Disney’s massive resources, it looks like the franchise will be around for a long, long time.
