The show has also been bordering on the supernatural in some aspects lately, as there is an implication that Sam is actually cursed and that’s the reason for all her trouble.
Some fans have been skeptical towards that direction of the production, claiming that it takes things too far away from the original premise. Others apparently see it as a fresh element in the overall plot, although we couldn’t find too many of those opinions online.
It would be interesting to see this played out as an actual plot element instead of something that’s just being referenced in passing by other characters, but we don’t know if the producers have any such plans yet. We’ve seen some official statements which seemed to imply that the showrunners have a more or less open mind towards the idea of a curse, so anything is possible.
It’s certainly noticeable that “General Hospital” has been in a strange position with its reception lately though, so the producers might have the right idea to explore some new directions for it. Who knows, maybe a few small changes are all the production needs to get back on its feet and remind people why they started following it in the first place.
We’ll find out if the producers actually have any such plans over the next episodes, as it should become clear soon enough if the show is moving in a new direction.
