It was pretty much inevitable that this trend would take off sooner or later though. Modern technology has been getting more and more advanced and it’s allowed gamers to experience some amazing things, and we’re likely going to see even more in the same tone in the future.
Some gamers have also been enthusiastically talking about the prospect of seeing support for cross-platform multiplayer between different consoles, but that’s not a very likely development at the moment for various reasons. It just wouldn’t benefit either company that much, although we could still see both companies at least giving the idea a chance to see where it goes.
“Gears of War 4” is also surrounded by some interesting rumors right now about possible developments coming up for the game, but there is not much official information from the developers on the other hand.
Considering how much attention the game got with the introduction of cross-platform multiplayer though, we imagine that the people behind the game are going to keep a bit of a lower profile on other issues as they want to focus as much as possible on the newly introduced feature. It’s been bringing a lot of positive attention to them and it makes full sense that they would want to reap the benefits of that, so hardly anyone could blame them right now, but hopefully they also don’t forget to keep their fans up to date on every aspect of the title.
