‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Leaks and Spoilers Online May Be a Controlled Misdirect by the Production Team and Cast Members

Season 7 of the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones” is still months away from premiering but there seems to be a substantial amount of leaks, spoilers, and behind-the-set filming photos making it heavily on the internet.

It is not surprising, to say the least since “Game of Thrones” is the most popular TV show on the small screen today and the closest competitor could very well be “The Walking Dead” which just premiered its Season 7 on AMC last week.

With the tons of leaks and spoilers for Season 7 of “Game of Thrones,” an observant and detailed-centric fan can actually piece everything together and come up with his own conclusion of what he thinks would be in store in the seven episodes of Season 7 when it releases in summer next year.

Just like Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” last year, the upcoming Season 7 does not have a book in the fantasy novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by critically-acclaimed author George R.R. Martin, to follow or be the basis so most of the leaks come from the set or secondary rumors.

Bound in secrecy

After the Season 5 finale of “Game of Thrones” in 2015, every production team member and cast member of the TV series were mum on whether Jon Snow would live or remain dead in the TV series.

Even Maisie Williams, the actress who plays Arya Stark, on a TV talk show, said that she thinks that Jon Snow is already dead as dead can be. Kit Harrington was also saying the same thing then in various interviews.

Thus, it is clear that the production team and the cast members are bound to secrecy to keep everything under wraps so as not to spoil the excitement of the TV series when it unfurls its seventh season next year

While the images and hints that have emerged in the past few weeks seem to confirm major plot points about the HBO show’s upcoming seventh season, spoilers haven’t always led fans in the right direction in the past, reports Bustle.

Fans should not believe every “Game of Thrones” spoiler they see or read on the internet because alleged images from the set have been misleading in previous seasons, sometimes intentionally so.

Doing it on a grand scale

And if indeed, show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are messing with fans, they are doing it on a grand scale, since a lot of images have leaked from the set so far.

Nothing can be more exciting than the rumored first ever meeting of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in Season 7 of “Game of Thrones.”

Some are actually saying that Season 7 spoilers can be an effort in misdirection. With the large amount of leaks being spread online, it seems that the creators are now motivated to retaliate. At least one of the key characters shown meeting on the set could be there as a diversion. It is possible that they hired Joe Dempsie as a stand in to get every fan to hope that Gendry had made it off the rowboat alive and is coming back in Season 7.

It is also possible that the leaked plot summary is the diversion, serving as revenge against all the prior photos and speculations.

Fans of “Game of Thrones” are pretty much aware that the end game to the phenomenal TV show is coming up soon so it is expected that the good will triumph over evil. After all, the TV series is based on the fantasy novel “A Song of Ice and Fire.”

Based on the Season 6 finale, there has been a couple of alignment of forces that were shown both in the south and in the north.

Over in the north, after winning the Battle of the Bastards and retaking Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton and his army, Jon Snow is proclaimed the new King of the North and has, in fact, unified most of the houses there.

Down south, after getting rid of the masters and the sons of the Harpy with the help of the Dothraki army, Daenerys Targaryen also aligned with Theon and Yara Greyjoy from the Iron Isles as they brought along 30 ships with them.

The Mother of Dragons, through the workings of Lord Varys, also got the support and partnership of the House Tyrell through matriarch Olenna Tyrell after his son, grandson Loras, and granddaughter Margaery got killed in the explosion in the Great Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing that also killed the High Septon. Everybody knows that the explosion is the work of new Queen Cersei Lannister Baratheon.

Reports now have it that the forging of alliances will continue in the upcoming Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” and nothing is more exciting than the already expected alliance of Daenerys’ Dothraki army with the Starks of the North.
