‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Los Angeles Premiere Belongs to Sophie Turner!

Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark in the HBO hit TV series “Game of Thrones” may have had the opportunity to become a Queen and stand beside the Iron Throne in Season 1 had her marriage with King Joffrey Baratheon, played by Jack Gleeson until Season 4, was consummated but it never materialized.

Her character went from Winterfell to Westeros to the Vale and back to Winterfell again from Season 1 to Season 5 and it looks like there will be plenty of her in the upcoming sixth season.

While her character may not have been the Queen in “Game of Thrones” but Sophie Turner came out during the Season 6 Los Angeles premiere of the TV hit on April 10 looking very regal and queenly that both paparazzi and critics were one in saying that the event truly belongs to her, notes Vanity Fair.

Turner did not steal the show per se but her aura did as she made the red carpet with that certain elegance and sophistication that had every head turning towards her direction.

But she was not the only Westerosi resident that showcased their wares on the red carpet during the TV show’s LA premiere. There was also Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Baratheon, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jamie Lannister, and many more.

As if to be consistent with the pronouncements that his character Jon Snow in the TV series is dead as dead can be, Kit Harrington was a no-show during the premiere.

Season 6 is going to be big for Sansa

In an interview with Sophie Turner during the LA premiere of “Game of Thrones,” Sophie Turner revealed that after what her character has been through in five seasons of the TV series, the sixth season is going to be a big one for Sansa Stark.

She did not reveal any detail about what her character is going to be in Season 6, preferring instead to describe Sansa in three words – boss, ass, and bitch.

It seems that Lady Sansa is going to be getting some payback from those who oppressed her in the past and the list includes Cersei, Ramsay Bolton, and Peter Baelish.

The Season 6 plotlines of “Game of Thrones” have become a guessing game to millions of show fans all over the world because it is the first season in which the TV series dramatically departs from the narrative published in the novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” written by critically-acclaimed author George R.R. Martin.

Even the most avid fans of the books have no idea what is coming next in “Game of Thrones” and the showrunners of the HBO series want to keep it that way, notes the Telegraph of UK.

A closer look at Season 6

Based on the premiere, Season 6 shall actually open directly from the final scene of Season 5, on the exact same snowy spot where Jon Snow’s bloodied body lay splattered.

The last episode of Season 5 is titled “The Red Woman” so it obviously has to do with the mystical Melisandre, played by Carrie Van Houten. She was left at Castle Black along with the corpse of Jon Snow as Season 5 ended, details the Telegraph of UK.

Thus, it is expected that by some luridly surprising twist, it will actually set the scene for some powerful sorcery to come that is likely to resurrect Jon Snow from the dead.

Game of Thrones season 5

But actor Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, remains adamant and insistent that his character is already dead and gone in “Game of Thrones.”

During his recent guesting on the Jonathan Ross talk show, Harrington was asked whether his character Jon Snow will come back alive in the upcoming Season 6 of “Game of Thrones,” he said that he is merely appearing in the show as a corpse.
