This is because of the author’s statements hinted that he’s not yet finished with the book. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Martin admitted that he miscalculated the estimated time frame for completing the latest installment to his fantasy saga.
The author said that he has already canceled a lot of convention appearances and interviews to get his work done.
During his recent appearance at the awarding of Hall of Achievement of his alma mater Northwestern University, the author admitted that the TV series had already caught up to him. He initially had a huge lead in the last years but revealed that he’s really a slow writer.
However, no announcement hasn’t been made up to now. “The Winds of Winter” is the sixth installment to his fantasy novel series titled “A Song of Ice and Fire” and will be the plot source of “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The last novel from the “A Song of Ice and Fire” was “A Dance with Dragon” that came out in 2011. Interestingly, the fifth book and the Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” have practically the same cliffhangers.
Fans are eagerly awaiting when they can finally get hold of the book and can hardly wait as well for April when “Game of Thrones” Season 6 returns on HBO.
