Game of Thrones Season 6 Latest Trailer Gives a Glimpse of Jon Snow’s Fate

HBO has just released the first promo trailer for the sixth season of “Game of Thrones” and it further teases fans if Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow is indeed alive or not.

The 40-second trailer released on December 3 didn’t preview anything about the upcoming season, but it sure did show death.

The video clip featured a montage of the show’s most brutal scenes such as the Red Wedding, Arya’s blinding, Jamie’s amputation, Ned Stark’s beheading and lastly, Jon Snow’s death.

There are also shots of the Khaleesi next to one of her dragons, a White Walker caressing a baby’s face, Littlefinger kissing Sansa Stark, and the three-eyed Raven just perching.

The clip was narrated by two notable voices, the three-eyed Raven, now played by Max von Sydow, and surprisingly Bran Stark, who was sidelined during the whole Season 5.

The teaser ends with Bran, played by Isaac Hempstead Wright, delivering the lines ‘They have no idea what’s going to happen.’

Apparently, the deaths shown in the teaser are all visions of the paralyzed Bran. Before the teaser ends, Bran’s eyes go white while experiencing a vision.

The youngest Stark hasn’t been seen since the fourth season and returns to action in Westeros in the upcoming sixth season, that is of course under the guidance of the three-eyed Raven.

HBO first teased the upcoming season by releasing the first official poster for Season 6 which revealed Snow’s face with blood dripping from his nose.

Ned Stark’s illegitimate son was obviously the main focus of the promo and while there is no clear answer about his fate, fans suggest that HBO hyping up the mystery only proves that the fan-favorite character is still alive.

NY Daily News reports that Harrington claimed that his character is very much dead after Season 5’s shocking finale.

The episode titled “Mother’s Mercy” showed Snow stabbed to death by Alliser Thorne and several men of the Night’s Watch after being labeled as a traitor.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the British actor repeatedly said that his character is already dead and he’s not coming back to the show anymore.

Despite claiming that Snow has already met his demise, the 28-year-old actor has since been spotted on the Belfast set with cast members.

Vanity Fair pointed out that Charles Dance had also been seen in Belfast the previous year after his character Tywin Lannister died as well. Dance reprised Tywin for one episode as a corpse.

Although, with so much attention and mystery being built around Jon’s fate, it is unlikely that he’ll only be back for a few episodes this season.

For the first time, fans have no idea as to what storyline this season is going to take as the Emmy Award-winning series will be based on George R.R. Martin’s upcoming book “The Winds of Winter.”

Set to return by April 2016, the next plot developments, unlike previous seasons, have caught up with Martin’s source novels already.

Speculations about what to expect this season have been continuously plaguing the internet. What is confirmed is that the season will be highlighting the epic battle of humans and the White Walkers.

With Bran being seen in the short clip, speculations have surfaced that the season will bring the Stark family back to center stage.

While Season 6 of HBO’s hit series premieres in less than five months, there is still no word yet when Martin’s “The Winds of Winter” will be released.

Earlier reports have claimed that it will hit bookshelves before the year ends just in time for fans of both novels and the TV series to catch up.

Christian Today reports that the release of the much-anticipated novel might come out after the Season 6’s premiere.

Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire blog even suggested that “The Winds of Winter” might come out in the latter part of 2016 or the early days of 2017, which is very far from the expected target release date.
