Season 6 of the popular TV series “Game of Thrones” is a little over six months away from premiering on HBO, but a latest image leak from the ongoing production seems to have given a major spoiler for the show’s upcoming season.
The image leak is being referred to as the ‘Reunion’ although it does not appear to be one. Accordingly, the image shows Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, Ramsay Bolton, played by Iwan Rheon, and Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish, played by Aidan Gillen, in one scene at the Winterfell’s courtyard, notes Vulture.
The photo also does not appear to be photoshopped so the image leak appears to be legit and was taken during the filming over at Ireland.
It also confirms that Jon Snow will come back from his near-death debacle during the Season 5 finale where he was stabbed numerous times by his brothers in the Nightwatch.
Obviously, there will be a lot of retribution in Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” as Jon Snow and his Stark siblings have a score to settle with both Ramsay and Littlefinger.
It can be recalled that it was Littlefinger which arranged the marriage of Sansa to Ramsay Bolton in an attempt to protect her from the wrath of Queen Regent Cersei, who still thinks that she was the one who killed her son Jeoffrey. However, Ramsay raped Sansa during their wedding night and has subjected her to physical abuses ever since.
Ramsay’s father was also in connivance with the Lannisters and Walder Frey in killing Lady Catelyn Stark and Rob Stark as well as Rob’s pregnant wife.
Littlefinger also helped kill Ned Stark when he turned against latter eventually at Westeros while serving as the Hand of the King to King Robert Baratheon.
Fans and critics believe that the so-called reunion would not be a happy one and it would likely result to the death of one or two characters among the four in the image leak. Most of the bets are on Ramsay Bolton and Littlefinger getting their paybacks from Jon Snow and Sansa Stark for their previous misdeeds on the Starks.
The gigantic battle to retake Winterfell
According to the Week of UK, the image leak is unclear whether it was taken before or after the gigantic snowy battle at Saintfield in Ireland pitting the Bolton soldiers against the Stark loyalists and the Wildings.
While the Boltons may have succeeded in defeating Stannis Baratheon’s weary army during Season 5, it seems that Jon Snow and his Wildings enjoy the upper hand in the battle given their familiarity with the snowy weather.
That’s in addition to the fact that the Wildings have a giant on their side that not even white walkers were able to defeat.
As a result of the latest image leak, fans of “Game of Thrones” are thrilled knowing that those who have aggrieved Sansa Stark and her family are likely to get their comeuppance in the upcoming Season 6.
Another major spoiler
There is also another major spoiler for “Game of Thrones” Season 6 courtesy of veteran actor Ian McShane, who will be appearing as a guest star in one episode of the TV series next year.
In an interview, he said that his character would be responsible for bringing somebody back that viewers think they’ll never get to see again.
If McShane was on target, then it would not be Melissandre, the red witch, who would be bringing back Jon Snow to life, assuming that it is Jon Snow he is talking about. Or maybe he could be referring to another character, which according to rumors could either be Catelyn Stark or the Hound. Either way, it would be an interesting serving of excitement for “Game of Thrones” fans for sure.
Meanwhile, HBO has just courted the ire of the millions of fans of the very popular “Game of Thrones” when reports started coming out that the premiere of the sixth season of the show will most likely be pushed back from its supposed early April release to May next year.
Over the past five seasons, “Game of Thrones” has either premiered in March or in April. This year, Season 5 premiered on HBO on April 12.
It seems unlikely that “Game of Thrones” will have an April premiere date next year because of some programming adjustments on HBO.
