‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Begins Airing as Creators See an End to the Epic on the 7th Season

The much-awaited return of “Game of Thrones” on TV begins with the airing of the premiere episode of Season 5 on HBO on Sunday, April 12.

Early reports from show insiders said that Season 5 is so massive that fans should be surprised with a lot of unexpected things.

Aside from being huge, the storylines of “Game of Thrones” Season 5 are both incredible and insane which would really make fans practically obsessed with it.

The fifth season promises to have plenty of actions, despite already being an action-packed series during its first four seasons. Apart from the intensified action scenes, there are also some crossovers in the storylines that would breed unexpected things in the series.

Future seasons confirmed

Even before the start of the airing of Season 5 of the “Game of Thrones” on HBO, the series has already been confirmed for Season 6.

MSN Entertainment details that the actors of the series are under contract up to a seventh season after which, it is believed that the creators will put a wrap to the epic.

It seems likely that the series will only be up to Season 7 which will make it at par or attune to the number of books that George R.R. Martin is planning for the fantasy novel “A Song of Ice and Fire,” where the series was adapted.

Critically-acclaimed author George Martin is due to release the sixth book of the series titled “The Winds of Winter” either late this year or early next year. Reports have it that he has already finished writing the book and is now working on the seventh and final book entitled “A Dream of Spring.”

Validation of success

Based on records, there have been 456 deaths that occurred over the first four seasons of “Game of Thrones.”

Much of the interior scenes of the series have been filmed in the Belfast studios in Ireland and to validate how popular and extraordinary successful the “Game of Thrones” has become in England, no less than Queen Elizabeth II, toured the location which only indicate her interest on the show.

Season 5 was filmed in Croatia, Spain, and Ireland, drawing lots of casting extras from locals in the process. It was also reported that the Alcazar palace in Seville, Spain, a major tourist attraction, had to be closed to the public during the production of “Game of Thrones.”

There have been several hints as to the storylines in the initial episodes of the 10-episode Season 5 of “Game of Thrones.” But regardless, whether those are accurate or not since most are based from third party sources and not directly from the show, fans of the series can hardly wait to see the premiere episode and the nine others so that they can get it over with fast.
