‘Frozen 2’ Rumors of Romantic Relationship Between Queen Elsa and Jack Frost Stemmed From the Fact that Both Characters Can Control Winter

“Frozen 2,” being the sequel to the most successful animated film of all time, has been the subject of countless plotline and character rumors since Disney Pictures officially gave the movie a green light early last year.

What seems certain at this time is that the movie shall likely hit the theaters in 2018 or five years from the time that “Frozen” came out in November 2013.

Another interesting and viral topic online is the possible romance of Queen Elsa of Arendelle. It can be recalled that in “Frozen,” only Princess Anna had a love life in the person of Kristoff. Initially, she wanted Prince Hans but as it turned out, the prince was scheming to get hold of Arendelle.

There have been petitions over the last couple of months that Disney should consider giving Queen Elsa a girlfriend. Although it may sound politically correct at this time, Disney has always been steadfast in terms of moral values to its movies so it is unlikely to entertain such a notion or petition.

There were also rumors saying that Queen Elsa may end up falling for Olaf, her snowman creation, who shall turn out to be a prince.

Co-directors and co-writers Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee have yet to make an official statement regarding the possible plotline or character development for “Frozen 2” so everything remains as speculation at this point in time.

Unlikely collaboration

Over the last few days, however, there are reports saying that Queen Elsa may end up falling for Jack Frost, a character from one of Dreamworks Animation movie called “Rise of the Guardians” shown in 2012. There have been a couple of fan artworks now spreading online featuring Queen Elsa and Jack Frost and it actually looks authentic, notes Fabnewz.

There have been reports stating that many fans are pushing for the love team of Queen Elsa and Jack Frost because they seem to think that the two characters are a perfect match.

However, critics believe that such are mere hearsays and the only reason why Queen Elsa was associated with Jack Frost is because both characters have the same power of being able to control winter.

Beyond such common ground, it seems that there is no more other connection. It would also be tough for Disney to bring in a character from a rival studio like Dreamworks.

There are also no reports of Disney and Dreamworks working on a collaboration soon. That’s in addition to the fact that “Frozen” is an original Disney film franchise so the entertainment conglomerate would rather keep it that way. The only collaborative partnership that Disney has on its animated movies is with Pixar Animation Studios and no other else.

With that being said, it is far too likely that Disney would stake a very successful franchise to a collaboration with another studio in order to produce a sequel, cites the iTech Post.

The evolution of the other characters

In addition to the possible love story of Queen Elsa in “Frozen 2,” there have also been a couple of rumors going around about Olaf, who shall reportedly have his own girlfriend in the sequel, probably a snow character too.

Then there are also the reports allegedly detailing that Princess Anna shall also have her own superpowers in “Frozen 2.”

While the rumors of Olaf having a girlfriend sounds feasible, Princess Anna having some sort of superpowers like her sister does not seem logical at all because it defeats the innocence of the princess, which has made her a very lovable character in “Frozen.”

frozen-2

Incidentally, late last month, Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios made some major changes to the release dates of its two upcoming animated movies – “The Incredibles 2” and “Toy Story 4” – but it seems that “Frozen 2” is still good to go in its 2018 playdate on global theaters.

However, up until this time, Disney has not announced or mentioned a specific release date for “Frozen 2” so unlike “The Incredibles 2” which now has a confirmed playdate of June 15, 2018 and “Toy Story 4” on June 21, 2019.
