With all that in mind, it’s important to remember the official information and stick to it when discussing the future of the film with other people. We don’t even have a release date yet, let alone any concrete information about the plot, so there is not really that much to discuss.
It’s curious to note that some of the rumors about the film talk about more controversial topics, such as LGBT themes and other similar ideas being discussed, and this is something that drove up the interest of some groups of fans.
We have no idea if this is true or not, and we certainly wouldn’t put it past Disney to have decided to include something like this in order to get more attention for the film. But it’s also possible that they were motivated by something else, such as the desire to educate.
The studio is in a very prominent position right now, and there are lots of eyes firmly focused on their work. Because of this, they can bring a lot of attention to important social issues that deserve more discussion, and on the other hand they can also make those topics friendlier for a child to think about. This is definitely something worth considering about “Frozen 2”, provided of course that the rumors about the film are true.
