‘Frozen 2’ Latest Rumors Indicate that Rapunzel Could be a Lost Sister to Elsa and Anna!

With hardly a confirmation about the plot details for “Frozen 2,” the internet is abuzz with rumors and speculations about the possible storyline to the sequel of the most successful animated movie of all time.

One thing that co-writers and co-directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee have mentioned upon the official greenlighting of “Frozen 2” by Disney last year, the movie shall impart a good message to children just like its predecessor movie did when it was released in November 2013.

They also promised to make the sequel better than the original since that is the way to go which is also one of the reasons why they are taking things slow to ensure that they can come up with a good story and another great film in “Frozen 2.”

Interestingly, other than those general statements of Buck and Lee, no specifics have been mentioned thus far so it is really surprising to find plenty of possible speculations about the movie’s plotline on the internet these days.

A lost and an adopted sister

One of the more interesting speculations currently making the rumor mills has something to do with Rapunzel of the other Disney animated movie “Tangled.”

According to rumors, Rapunzel is reportedly the long lost sister of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, which would make “Frozen 2” a crossover of sort between “Frozen” and “Tangled.”

The speculations went on to say that Elsa and Anna will be learning that they have another sister who also possesses Elsa’s kind of superpowers. That sister is to be Rapunzel.

Further exploiting the rumor to the hilt, it also mentioned that Anna will also found out that she is just an adopted daughter of the deceased King and Queen of Arendelle so she will be jealous of Elsa and Rapunzel and she will turn to her dark side with the power of fire to rival that of Elsa and Rapunzel, details the Parent Herald.

However, until a confirmation is made by Disney Pictures or Chris Buck or Jennifer Lee regarding this rather unorthodox storyline, everything should be taken with a fine grain of salt.

Making life difficult for the sisters

Anna being the villain in the current speculations seems to be patterned after a previous report that went around last month saying that a new female villain from Arendelle will come out and make life difficult for Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.

According to the report, the villain shall have powers that is opposite of Queen Elsa’s which could possibly mean that the nemesis could heat things up, perhaps using fire.

While no details have been made officially on this supposed villain, there are also hints that it is also possible that Princess Anna will also showcase her superpower in “Frozen 2,” a notion which Jennifer Lee debunked when she said that Anna’s power in the first movie is love and that’s all there is to it.

However, some fans still believe that in order to make “Frozen 2” more exciting, Princess Anna should have a superpower like her sister too. In fact, there are even reports that she could actually turn to the dark side and face off with Queen Elsa at first.

Though, it seems like a worn out plot by the time it comes out because that is what the movies “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Captain America: Civil War,” and even “Big Hero 7” are threading – two protagonists going head to head first before patching things up and facing a bigger villain.

It is unlikely for Buck and Lee to go into the same direction considering the level of “Frozen,” plot-wise, and it would be going beyond its scope if it takes on such rather convoluted plot.

Frozen 2

It is likely that rather than going for the complicated, Buck and Lee will go for a cute story for “Frozen 2” the way they already did for “Frozen” shown in 2013 and the short film “Frozen Fever” released in March last year.

Nothing could be cuter than the rumored plotline that Olaf could turn out to be the prince that Queen Elsa would fall in love with since the loveable snowman was her creation in the first place.

  1. Actually, like so many other ridiculous fan ideas out there regarding Frozen 2 (namely the Rapunzel/Elsa theory), this one also happens to be ENTIRELY false and you are frankly pretty irresponsible for endorsing such a preposterous notion. Use some common sense, for GOD’S SAKE. Anna and Elsa are sisters by blood. There’s NO speculation there. There’s NO other option. There’s NO canon information that even SUGGESTS otherwise—that even ALLUDES to other possible relationships. You can’t even begin to THINK that it’s possible. RAPUNZEL IS RELATED TO NEITHER ELSA NOR ANNA. Anna and Elsa DO NOT have any canon living relatives, as you are well aware. Was this not obvious enough in the movie? Evidently not… This “theory” you’ve adopted was born from the logic-ignoring minds of the Film Theorists, who apparently come up with “creative” or “interesting” ideas based on popular movies that ARE NOT intended to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, the unhinged, underdeveloped minds of rabid Frozen/Tangled worshippers across the globe have come to a point where they ACTUALLY BELIEVE these three characters may have some sort of legit familial connection, WHICH THEY DO NOT. NOTHING WAS EVER CONFIRMED OR SUGGESTED BY THE MOVIE CREATORS THAT THEY ARE RELATED IN ANY WAY. EVER. And to think that Frozen 2 will have something to do with Tangled? Well, it really can’t get any sadder, any less intelligent than that, can it? This is what I read: “OMFG ELSA AND REPUNZAL R SISTRS AND ANA ISNT ELSA SISTR CUZ I JST FOUND THUS THEERY IN THA INTERNAT (also it’s not confirmed yet but) OMFG ANA AND ELSA ARNT RALETED!!!!!” Nice job.
