‘Frozen 2’ Actress Idina Menzel Open to the Idea of Queen Elsa Having a Girlfriend in the Sequel But Leaves it to the Producers to Decide!

Actress Idina Menzel has catapulted to fame after voice acting the role of Queen Elsa of Arendelle in “Frozen,” the most successful movie of all time released in November 2013.

She also sang the movie’s phenomenal hit “Let It Go,” which had children and people from all walks of life crooning with the song at every chance they could get.

Menzel has already been confirmed to reprise her voice acting role in “Frozen 2” which is why every statement she gives to the media are almost always taken into account and creates a stir online.

A few months ago, she was asked about her role in “Frozen 2” and she said that she is confirmed to play Elsa again unless the Queen of Arendelle falls off the cliff in the first five minutes of the sequel.

She was obviously saying it in jest but there were rumors that started swirling online hints of Queen Elsa’s death on the sequel, which seemingly is not true since Disney Pictures is not the one to kill off a major character and disappoint millions of its children fans worldwide.

Focus on Queen Elsa’s love life

In “Frozen,” it was the love life of Princess Anna that was made as the focus of the story. But it is Anna’s love for her sister that solved everything and turned things around for Arendelle.

Reports have started going around that in “Frozen 2,” it is going to be the love life of Queen Elsa that would be at play. But the plot has divided fans from all walks of life. Some are saying that Elsa should have a boyfriend, some are saying that she should have a girlfriend, and still some others are pushing that she just remains single.

When asked recently if she is okay with Queen Elsa having a girlfriend, Idina Menzel stated that she thinks that it’s a great idea but Disney has just had to contend with that. She also added that she would let the producers deal and figure that out.

Those who have been pushing for a lesbian Elsa rejoiced over Menzel’s latest statement, when in fact, the actress was just playing it coy, to say the least. She obviously does not want to offend any group so she would rather have Disney decide what Elsa is going to be in “Frozen 2,” details Game & Guide.

More weird speculations

“Frozen 2” has become the subject of some of the weirdest plotline speculations online ever since Disney greenlit the movie last year for a 2018 release date.

While co-writers and co-directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee have yet to say anything official about the plotline of the movie, there have been absurd rumors going around online about the possible storyline for “Frozen 2.”

Apart from the supposed demise of Queen Elsa, there are also rumors going around that Princess Anna would become the big bad in the sequel as she would turn to be an evil princess in “Frozen 2,” reports the MNR Daily.

In fact, the same rumors are saying that Anna would discover her own superpowers of fire and she will be using it to kill Elsa and Olaf in “Frozen 2,” a plotline that does not make sense since Chris Buck has said previously that the sequel shall impart a strong message to children, which means that death is out of the picture.

Disney hardly kills a character. At worst, they just put the character into oblivion but more often, they turn the bad characters into good guys in the end so having Anna as the villain in “Frozen 2” really looks illogical from all angles.

The latest rumors about “Frozen 2” are also saying that it would feature a sibling rivalry between Queen Elsa and Princess Anna of Arendelle.

It can be recalled that there was a bit of sibling rivalry featured in “Frozen” when Elsa decided to run off to the snow mountain but not because she is angry with her sister but more because she wanted to protect her and the whole of Arendelle from her uncontrollable powers of turning everything around her into ice.

The absurd portion of the rumors lies with reports saying that there is also a possibility that Princess Anna would steal the throne of Arendelle from her sister.
