Marvel Studios has just released the fourth and final trailer of its upcoming movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron” due to hit theaters worldwide on May 1.
Compared to the previous trailers of the sequel to the “Avengers” film series which focuses more on the plot of the film and how villain Ultron came to be, the latest 90-second teaser of the Joss Whedon-directed film is actually superheroes-centered, notes GMA News.
The trailer highlighted the six main protagonists representing the Avengers including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor and Hawkeye against the triumvirate of antagonists featuring Ultron, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver.
While the numbers favor the Avengers, Ultron has in his arsenal thousands of robots and electronic armies which he can command using his extreme artificial intelligence.
Evidently, the Avengers would require the support of other superheroes, which have earlier on been reported to have cameo roles in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” including Vision, to be played by Paul Bettany, and possibly, Doctor Strange, to be played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
The past trailer
The third trailer of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” was released on March 4, a 138-second action-packed teaser that has practically revealed the key plot of the movie along with some internal conflicts and struggles among the Marvel superheroes.
It also showed how Ultron originated from an experiment of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, the alter egos of Iron Man and the Hulk, respectively.
As an artificial intelligence project, Ultron was part of a plan to help protect the world but he instead turned into a maniacal villain bent on the extinction of the human race.
Although it was already revealed in the past how Ultron came to be, the trailer nonetheless showed the moment when Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., admitted to Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, that they made a mistake in creating the artificial intelligence.
The trailer also showed some infighting among the Avengers including the Hulk and Iron Man getting at it, and also Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, and Tony Stark also getting to each other’s nerves.
It also featured Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, played by Chris Evans; Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, and Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson.
There’s also a part in the trailer where Tony Stark hinted of a possible death in one of the characters on their side but it’s not clear who would it be. He was quoted as saying that there’s no way they can all get through the ordeal.
But later on, the Avengers unite to battle Ultron and his allies. They were further egged on to stick together and fight by Nick Fury, played by Samuel Jackson, even as a new superhero character is seen towards the end of the trailer that would probably help them in their cause.
