Flight MH370 remains one of the biggest mysteries of modern aviation, as there is still no information about the exact whereabouts of the unlucky plane. We’ve been getting various reports about parts washing up on the shore in a few locations, and while this was initially encouraging for those involved in the search efforts, so far the actual plane itself hasn’t been found. It’s not clear at this point if we’re ever going to locate the wreckage, but many people are still holding on to hopes that it will turn up eventually.
Recently, some parts from the plane have reportedly washed up on Reunion Island, and there was one part in particular that caught the attention of authorities as it was larger than others. Initial reports spotted the large part some miles into the water, and after that appropriate teams were mobilized to recover the part and find out what it is.
Reports are claiming that a part that washed up on the island in July was indeed from the missing airplane, and that was one of the control devices of the airplane, according to the publicly released information.
There are various prominent theories about where the plane might have crashed exactly, but so far nobody has managed to come up with the exact location, and search efforts are still ongoing. People are working very hard day and night to find any trace of the missing airplane, but so far it’s all been in vain as we still have no idea where the flight went down and what exactly happened to it.
The mystery has had some people obsessed with finding the answer, but it looks like this might not happen anytime soon, as locating the plane has proven more difficult than many people were suspecting. It’s not that often that an entire airplane would go missing with absolutely no trace, and this is just another example showing just how much more powerful nature is compared to us, even with all the fancy modern technology that we have access to.
It’s starting to look very doubtful that the complete machine will be recovered in the future, as the plane has likely crashed into many different parts that have been slowly drifting away from each other over time. Chances of locating the main wreckage have been getting slimmer and slimmer, and some people have indeed apparently lost hope that we’re ever going to see the airplane recovered.
Still, it would be disheartening to consider that a large machine like that can just disappear without a trace and we never know what happened to it. But until we have a surefire way to pinpoint the exact location of an airplane even after its system has completely failed, that’s how the situation is going to be, and there’s not much we can to about it at all. Sure, we have various devices that are supposed to make this less likely nowadays, but the system is still far from perfect, as MH370 clearly showed.
Regardless, search efforts are still ongoing and many people have hopes that the plane is going to turn up at some point in the near future. Finding it is not just about giving some peace to the families now – although that’s of course also very important – but it also has various implications that some people are not even considering, some of which are just as important.

Actually, the more we search, the closer we get to finding MH370. The general area of impact is limited and well defined by the Inmarsat BTO and BFO data, but it takes time and specialized resources to search this area of the SIO.
