Final Fantasy XV Seen as Mostly a Strong Sequel for the Franchise, but Has Its Flaws!

Now that “Final Fantasy XV” has been out for a while and people have had a chance to play around with it for a bit longer, it’s interesting to see the “final verdicts” that have been pouring in from all sides. For the most part, people are still happy with the game and are pleased with the direction Square Enix took it in. However, some of its flaws have surfaced as well, and it’s not the perfect game some saw it as in the beginning.

But the negative comments about the game are definitely not as common as the positive ones, and it looks like people have been having a lot of fun as a whole. One of the most common comments we’ve seen about “Final Fantasy XV” in a positive tone is about the game’s difficulty and accessibility, and it looks like the developers have done a pretty solid job making it more attractive to modern audiences.

This is important, as the “Final Fantasy” franchise carries a long-running legacy with it, but that’s a double-bladed knife at this point. It does allow the studio to release a game and more easily attract people to it, but on the other hand it also means that they need to be more careful to avoid alienating their older followers, which is always a big risk.

In fact, some players – and critics – have argued that the game has actually changed too much from its predecessors, and in some cases it wasn’t for the better. The more open nature of the game means that players will have to adapt to a new gameplay style, and strategies which used to be effective in the past will no longer work that well.

Some parts of the gameplay have been made less detailed in this installment too, such as dialogs. This was met with mixed responses from fans, but most were not happy with how the game was changed in this regard.

There is still a possibility to interact with NPCs, but it’s mostly limited to obtaining information about where to go for a certain quest, and other minor details like that. The old style of engaging in deeper conversations is mostly gone.

Those are mostly minor details though, at least compared to the elephant in the room – the new combat system. Some were happy with how the game had evolved in this aspect, claiming that it now feels much more modern and interesting, but on the other hand some are not happy with the new direction at all, claiming that it takes away too much from the tactical aspect of the originals.

It will probably take a while before we see the full implications of the new combat system. With a game like “Final Fantasy XV”, players will need some time in order to fully understand how to mix the different mechanics available to them for the best results, and how the various components of the game work overall.

Perhaps with time, it will turn out that this is actually a deeper and more thought-provoking game than any of its predecessors when it comes to its combat mechanics. But for now, players seem to be commenting on the changes in the combat system in mixed tones, mostly leaning towards the negative. Hopefully they will turn out to be wrong in the long run though, as there does seem to be a lot of potential behind the combat in “Final Fantasy XV”.
