Final Fantasy XV Developers Are Listening to Feedback, Gameplay Is Far from Final!

“Final Fantasy XV” is supposedly coming soon after a long wait, but the game is not quite finished yet – according to reports, the developers are still actively evaluating some aspects of the game’s design, and they are doing their best to make sure that it will meet the expectations of all fans. Which is obviously not going to be easy – after such a long time, people are definitely expecting something big from this game and they won’t be happy with a run-of-the-mill sequel. From what we’ve heard so far, it does look like the next “Final Fantasy” is going to be a very exciting installment in the franchise, and even though it comes with some changes that have been seen as controversial by the community, it should still make quite the splash when it’s released.

Judging by the various releases of details that we see occasionally, it does indeed look like Square Enix are putting a lot of work into making the game different in the best way possible, and they have been reevaluating their core decisions in some cases, all so they can make sure that the game will get noticed in a positive way instead of getting swept under the rug.

One of the more notable recent changes has been in the combat system of the game – weapon switching is no longer automatic but can be decided by the player at any time, and while this might seem like a small difference at first, it actually has some strong implications for how the game as a whole is going to play.

It’s been a common complaint with the previous style of the gameplay, as it used to force players into certain choices dictated by their automatic weapon switching, but now each player can make their own decision during combat and approach the situation in the best way possible by picking the right tool for the job.

Not only that, but players will also be given some relatively deep customization options for those weapons, allowing them to make the most with what they have and further diversifying the possible gameplay styles that can be employed with those weapons. Now, a player can easily define their own combat style that more closely matches their personal preferences instead of limiting themselves to what the game offers by default.

Other than that, it sounds like they are also considering some changes to the plot and basic premise of the game, including certain things that the community has been suggesting/requesting for a while. There might be female characters playing alongside the main cast now, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. It’s starting to sound more plausible considering that the rumor has already been repeated several times by multiple sources, and the game could definitely use some more variety in its character line-up, so we wouldn’t be surprised if something like that was planned indeed. Although it hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet, it was referenced by Hajime Tabata already.

The interesting thing to note about this is the fact that the addition of female characters could have actual gameplay implications, such as by changing the behavior of all male characters once a woman joins the party. While this does sound like a peculiar gameplay feature, it’s also something that has quickly drawn negative attention from some of the more overly sensitive corners of the gaming community, with people claiming that it’s not very appropriate to approach the addition of new characters like that.
