While we already saw one playable demo for “Final Fantasy XV”, this might not be enough for the game’s producers as they are rumored to be working on yet another similar demo version to present to their fans. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but if it does turn out to be true, it could mean that the studio is trying very hard to please their fans and to ensure that the game works in a way that people actually want to see.
This has been a common worry within the “Final Fantasy” community, as people are afraid that the studio might not be able to create the game in a way that lives up to fans’ expectations, but if they are looking to iteratively get opinions on their progress, this could signify that they are indeed trying to make the game as close as possible to their fans’ demands.
The originally released demo saw some mixed responses within the community, as people questioned the merits of releasing a product that could give questionable impressions for the main game itself. “Episode Duscae” still managed to give a good impression to fans and mostly lived up to expectations nicely, but we don’t know what the studio could be planning if they want to release another similar game. Are they going to show us new levels and content, or are they going to just build on the same things that were already shown in the original demo?
It should be noted that this is still just a rumor and it’s not clear if it could be true or not, as some are saying that it could be just a poorly translated statement that was meant to say something completely different. Knowing Square Enix though, it could definitely turn out to be true, especially if the studio really is developing this game with so much more attention to their fans’ feedback as they are rumored to be.
They would be right to take that approach too, as they are under a lot of attention right now and people are wondering quite a lot what’s going to happen to the next game in the series. “Final Fantasy XV” is coming with some rather radical changes that could either make it the best installment the franchise has seen, or the worst one. The story can easily swing both ways and it’s not very easy to tell what will happen right now, and Square Enix have been quite secretive about their work in the meantime, refusing to say anything specific about their plans.
This is probably a smart move for the studio too, as people could easily twist their words in a new way and take things out of context when there is so much attention on the game right now. Square Enix should be familiar with this in particular, as the studio has had its fair share of issues with communication and they know how to address their community properly now.
But we’ve seen a situation like this multiple times in gaming already – when so many people are firmly focused on a game, it’s pretty much inevitable that anything said by the studio working on that game will be presented in various different lights by the community and fans themselves risk damaging the reputation of their own franchise with what they are saying. It’s happened before, and with a franchise as major as “Final Fantasy”, it can definitely happen again.
