The fact that players now have to go back to older locations in order to activate new quests has actually been praised by some critics, as they see it as a good way to repurpose the game’s older content.
It might be an annoying experience for some who’ve already seen those locations and explored them in detail, sure, but those players are probably not in a majority in the game’s community.
All in all, Square Enix have been doing a fine job with the ongoing maintenance of the title and we’re excited to see what else the studio could be planning for the franchise in the future.
