And from what we’ve seen so far, some of those changes are actually not that bad and have the potential to make the game a more pleasant experience, streamlining the gameplay in some ways and making it a less frustrating ordeal for those who don’t like to deal with complicated action sequences.
It should also open up new possibilities for those who want to improve their gameplay as much as possible, and we fully expect to see some more creative solutions by members of the community once the game has been out for a while and fans have had a chance to mess around with its gameplay a bit.
There have also been some minor rumors about possible differences in the gameplay across platforms, but we don’t know if those could be true or not. It’s definitely plausible, but not very likely.
Square Enix have generally been trying to make their games unified across different platforms, and they avoid splitting their community through such differences. Because of this, we wouldn’t put too much weight on those rumors and we would expect both consoles to get the exact same experience as far as the core gameplay is concerned. Exclusive content is a different story but that should not be added to this equation, of course, and it’s something publishers do regularly.
