Square Enix have been surrounded by a mix of some good and bad news for their fans who’re waiting for “Final Fantasy 15”. On one hand, apparently we won’t see the new game in 2015 at all – Sony have announced that the game won’t be ready for a 2015 release, though they did not say anything about what time they’re aiming for now. A 2016 release is highly likely, but the month could vary quite a lot, though all indications point towards a release in the early months.
In the same post, Sony also gave the release dates of various titles scheduled for 2015, although not all of their upcoming games for the year have been confirmed for a specific date yet. Some have just been given with a tentative “2015” as their date, and not much else has been said by Sony about them so far.
Among the games listed in the post was “Final Fantasy Type 0 HD”, which is coming out in about a month, as well as several more games in the same franchise, remakes of older titles. As fans of the series probably know, however, the release of “Final Fantasy Type 0 HD” will be accompanied by a playable demo of “Final Fantasy 15”, titled “Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae”.
And fans will get to learn more about that demo before it’s launched, in about a week. Square Enix are reportedly planning a streaming event where they will reveal the game and show some details about it, including gameplay mechanics. By extension, this means they’ll be showcasing “Final Fantasy 15” itself, so this should be an exciting date for all fans of the franchise.
The livestream will actually feature Hajime Tabata, one of the studio’s directors, who will guide players through the new changes to the gameplay. The stream will be available on YouTube Live, so anyone interested should be able to view it in high quality. It’s not known exactly how much of the game will be shown, though it’s probably safe to assume that Square Enix are planning to hype up their fans significantly, and this should mean an interesting streaming event.
It’s also possible that they might mention something about the release of the game during the stream, although if Sony haven’t announced the date themselves with the earlier post, it’s not very likely that we’ll hear anything from Square Enix in this regard. Still, they might at least give some hints about their current development progress, which should give some idea about how much more time they’re going to need to wrap up their development work.
