Meanwhile, we’ve seen the marketing efforts for “Fifty Shades Darker” pushing in some interesting directions. For example, an exclusive lingerie line related to the show was recently announced, featuring some exquisite designs for the naughtier-minded fans of the books.
This actually has the potential to strike the interest of people who’ve never even heard of “Fifty Shades” (however small that group may be), as well as those who aren’t particularly interested in the series. From that point of view, it’s actually quite the clever marketing campaign, and we suspect that it might work out quite well.
What else will we see in the coming months branded after “Fifty Shades Darker” and aimed at people with darker fantasies? There is actually quite a lot of opportunity in that market, and the producers of the new film would be smart to explore it in detail.
Until then, we will hopefully hear more about the film itself, and we won’t see the marketing veering off into tangential directions that don’t have much to do with the actual production. It’s nice to see these products every now and then of course, but fans of the books would most certainly appreciate it more if the producers were more active in sharing details about the film itself.
But as we pointed out above, they’ve shown that they know what they’re doing, so we expect some more teasers in the coming weeks/months, possibly even with some new scenes of the film.
