There have been rumors of late saying that Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore in the American supernatural drama TV series “The Vampire Diaries” on The CW, is being considered by the producers of “Fifty Shades Darker” for the role of Jack Hyde, the boss of Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson.
The same report event went on to say that the producers are choosing between Ian Somerhalder and Theo James for the role who shall drive some sort of wedge between Ana and Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.
Surprisingly, even British actor Henry Cavill, the actor who plays Superman in the DC Extended Universe, was said to be being considered for the role of Jack Hyde, reports University Herald.
Looking closely into the sources of the rumor, it seems that the outlet has used a report from a defunct news outlet that published the article way back in September 2015.
At that time, “Fifty Shades Darker” was indeed looking for actors to fill in its cast of characters including Jack Hyde. However, before the end of last year, the cast members for the second and third movie based on E.L. James’ erotic romance novel have been completely filled up.
Eric Johnson went on to bag the role of Jack Hyde but Ian Somerhalder was indeed considered momentarily for the character. The rumors about Theo James and Henry Cavill being considered were mere speculations then and certainly not today.
Why it is impossible
According to the Parent Herald, the news regarding Ian Somerhalder and his supposed role to play in “Fifty Shades Darker” is completely false.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have already finished filming “Fifty Shades Darker” and Fifty Shades Freed” in Paris in July so it is impossible for “The Vampire Diaries” star to join the cast as the production has already finished filming.
The final scene in Paris was the intimate wedding and honeymoon scenes of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, which reportedly prompted Jamie Dornan to tell his wife Amelia Warner not to watch the two movies anymore.
Despite rumors that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have developed a secret affair during the back-to-back filming of “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” the Irish actor has remained faithful to his wife and their two daughters Dulcie and Phoebe.
Love has never changed
Actor Jamie Dornan is a family man and he made sure that the rumor-mongers know that when he recently stated that his love for his wife Amelia Warner never changes from the day that they have become a couple.
The Irish actor made the statement recently in light of rumors that he and his leading lady in the erotic romance film “Fifty Shades Darker,” Dakota Johnson, are having a secret affair.
Jamie and Amelia were married in 2012 and they now have two daughters in Dulcie and Phoebe.
All the three films of the movie trilogy based on the erotic novels of author E.L. James necessitate the intimate moments between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
The rumors about the secret affair between the two heightened further when Dakota surprised Jamie Dornan during his recent 34th birthday celebration and shared her greeting to his leading man on her Instagram account.
But Dornan explained that he and Dakota are just professionals doing their job and that they have also become good friends. He also clarified that despite the intimate scenes in the three movies, including the upcoming “Fifty Shades Darker” due to hit theaters in February next year, he and Dakota never had actual sex because they both know the limitations of their roles.
