‘FIFA 17’ Offers Smoother and More Seamless Multiplayer Experience Compared to the Highly Lauded ‘PES 2017′

The Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) games from Konami have turned things around over EA Sports’ FIFA soccer simulation video games in 2014.

Before that, FIFA has been completely dominating PES games every year. Everything changed with the advent of “PES 2015″ released in 2014. It was followed up mightily by “PES 2016” last year which sustained its edge over “FIFA 16.”

So when “FIFA 17” and “PES 2017” were released to the gaming consoles in September this year, critics and gamers alike could not help but once again pit the two games against each other. The rivalry is actually good for both games and developers so as they would not let their guard down with regards to coming out with the better game.

It is very similar to the competition in the smartphone business featuring Apple on one side and Samsung on the other.

Based on initial gamers and critics reviews, it looks like “PES 2017” has once again become the hands-down winner over “FIFA 17,” notes Trusted Reviews.

Still, “FIFA 17” has some advantages over “PES 2017” including its smoother and more seamless multiplayer experience.

Many gamers find it a downer that despite being the more stable and excellent soccer simulation game among the two, “PES 2017” was still a little hampered online.

“FIFA 17” deals better online than “PES 2017,” with a mostly lag-free experience. Opponents are found quickly and as long as the gamer is facing someone with a stable internet connection then he will do fine.

Another edge of ‘FIFA 17’

“FIFA 17” has ushered a new feature with its new story mode entitled ‘The Journey.’ Players will follow the career of Alex Hunter, a young hopeful looking to make his way from the academy to becoming an international footballer in England.

The Journey is good and bad, but it’s fun to play through and it adds something extra depth to the often boring career mode. It features well-made cut-scenes, decent voice acting, and a variety of challenges.

Konami still holds the Champions and Europa League licenses, which is a huge scoop and players can still take part in their favorite European tournaments.

Although not much has changed in either games’ core modes, the introduction of The Journey and the sheer amount of modes available in “FIFA 17,” plus the behemoth that is the Ultimate Team means “FIFA 17” takes the crown over “PES 2017” in such category, reports the Telegraph of UK.

Most critics believe that “PES 2017” offers the best on-pitch action for the gamer’s money, serving up matches that take their own narrative and teams that feel like individual units rather than the same group with differing stats.

Free trial for ‘FIFA 17’

It might have been a way for game publisher EA Sports to further hype its football simulation game “FIFA 17” or it could also be a promotion offer to entice loyal gamers of its competitor game “PES 2017” to consider checking its main rival, but a free trial for “FIFA 17” has been made available during the Thanksgiving weekend late last month.

EA Sports announced on November 23 that a free trial for “FIFA 17” was made available for PS4 and Xbox One players beginning at 6 pm GMT on November 24 all the way to 7:59 am GMT on November 27 or nearly 62 hours of free trial.

However, it should be noted that each gamer was allowed to play a full 10-hour trial during the Thanksgiving free trial weekend and nothing more.

The trial has given a player access to the full “FIFA 17” game including new story mode The Journey, the Ultimate Team, career mode, and more.

FIFA 17

If the gamer is an EA Access subscriber on Xbox One who already finished up his 10 hours of the pre-launch trial, he would not be eligible for the offer. In addition, only a limited portion of The Journey mode was made available on either platform, but the player would get unrestricted access to the rest of the modes.

It should be noted as well that any progress that the players make will carry over to the full game if he decides to buy it.
